Hi There!

My name is Casey and I'm coming down from a 10 day trip to WDW and US/IoA! Since there is no plan for a future trip any time soon.. I am going to take a stab at my first ever TR!

The PTR for this trip can be found in my signature, or here: March 2015 PTR
I will forewarn you though, the plans that were so nicely laid out in that PTR didn't all go according to plan!

This trip was something that I had been trying for for quite some time, but more about that later!


THE CAST:


This is my BF Sken and I!

We were joined at the beginning of our trip with my aunt, cousin, and her two kids!


We were also joined by my aunt, uncle, and other little cousin, but I don't think I have the picture of us all together.

DETAILS OF THE TRIP

We stayed at Port Orleans- Riverside in a Royal Room for 9 nights


We also spent two days at Universal and Islands of Adventure!


I hope you will join me as I re-live this amazing adventure! Sken was very reluctant to go, hence why this was a trip a few years in the making, but I think I might have actually turned him around! Maybe not to the point that I am at, but he did enjoy himself and I don't think it will be as hard to get him to return! ​

Travel Day- Part One.


Before I get to travel day, I’m going to start at the night before. I got out of work about a half hour early and went right home to get things in order. I had to finish a load of laundry, and get everything into the suitcase and carry-on. I also had to pack up the puppy and get her to my parent’s house. After all this was done it was about 11 when we finally got to bed.

The alarm went off at 3am. I of course jumped up out of bed like a child on Christmas morning. IT WAS DISNEY DAY! I had to do some last minute things, like wash the dishes that were in the sink and straighten my hair. I practically jumped on Sken to get him up! “COME ON IT’S DISNEY DAY, GET YOUR BUTT UP!”

For those who followed my PTR you know that leading up to our vacation we were stuck in snow Hell, also known as the snowiest winter Boston has ever seen. So following along with that, I took this picture while we were walking out the door!

We were out the door on time and on the road! Man it was early!

It took us about an hour to get to the airport and parked. On my quick weekend trip in April 2014 I got to the airport and parked my car, saw the shuttle that brings you to the front and booked it over to make sure I didn’t have to wait to get the next one. Well in my rush, I failed to see where I parked. That was a huge mistake that I found out at midnight the night I came home. So I made sure to NOT make that mistake again!!

We got in and through security pretty quickly. The airport that we flew out of is a smaller one so it’s always pretty easy to get through. We found a Dunkin Donuts and made sure to get breakfast. We also bought our flying essentials at the little store (magazine, snacks, and a drink.) While eating our breakfast and waiting to board, the sun began to rise and make a beautiful sight!

Before long we were seated and ready for take-off! Can you tell that Sken was not having all the picture taking? I told him to get used to it real quick!

The guy who was the third one in our row was very nice. His daughter was in FL for spring training for softball and he knew guys that worked with Sken so they got to talking. I watched Thor on my iPad because quite frankly I have no idea how it got there but I was pumped! The flight was pretty uneventful, and before long we were on our way to Magical Express! Our bands worked and we were right on through to lane 4!

While getting onto our plain Mears bus (ICK!) the driver stopped me. He must that noticed that I was beaming because it was DISNEY DAY, because he stops me and says “With a smile like yours, you sure are a keeper!” This was also directed at Sken LOL! We were about half way down when we sat. If you don’t believe that I was beaming and smiling from ear to ear.. here is some proof!!

I WAS READY FOR DISNEY!!!

The bus went a different route then I am used to, because in the last few years I have stayed at the All Star resorts. We didn’t go through the arch! I was bummed, but we did go through this thing that I tried to get a picture of:

We were the last stop on the bus, which kinda stunk because I was antsy! We stopped at Saratoga Springs, The Beach Club, Port Orleans French Quarter, and finally Port Orleans Riverside. We walked in and went to check in. I had checked in online, but I had that “gift” from Guest services that I wanted to pick up. (If you didn’t follow along on the PTR, I got a “gift” because they made a mistake on my reservation and told me I was saving $250 when they actually changed my price to be $50 more then what it originally was. For the troubles, they gave me a $150 gift card that essentially covered the cost of our Memory Maker.) Check-in went very smoothly, however our room wasn’t ready. I was HOT being dressed all winter-like, and Sken was hungry so we took care of those things first.

Once I was changed, and we had eaten, our room still wasn’t ready. So we took our bags to Bell Services and decided to hope on our first bus of the trip!

Since I thought we might have the time, I had made FP+ selections for this day. I took a picture of them to remember what we had picked.

We got into the park no problem, and started to head towards Main Street. Now I’ve said it a few times now, but I was EXCITED! All I had left to do was turn the corner and take in the sights of my castle! I was turning the corner when all of a sudden, I was pulled onto the sidewalk and under a scaffolding. Sken was cracking up. He knew I wanted to see the castle and instead pulled me under the cover so I couldn’t. “YOU’RE MEAN!!!!” After we got out the other side I was able to take in the beautiful sight of my castle!

AHH! It’s blurry, but beautiful none the less!

I texted Dawn and they were waiting for Pirates, so we decided to do our first FP of the day, Space Mountain! We had no problem getting through the FP+ line and we were on our way! Sken took this picture and put it on Snapchat and Facebook. I thought it was hilarious!

After that eventful ride we were off to meet up with the family. They were sitting outside of the Hall of President’s so we huffed it over there. Although we found out shortly that was pointless!

So we had just rode Space Mountain and crossed the hub to meet the family at Hall of Presidents. Once we get there we talk about our travels and ask what their plans were. Dawn mentions that they have a FP+ for Buzz. Oh hey, so do we! At the same damn time! Which was now! LOL. So back over to Tomorrowland for all of us!

Hopefully DILLIGAF doesn’t kill me for this!

Looks like the kids picture is missing? But Kaden and Myra rode together. After our spin around the Galaxy, we decided to take a leisurely stroll on the Peoplemover! Dawn and AT sat together and we sat with the kids. I thought I got a foot picture, but it might be on my camera. I do have this picture that I posted on Snapchat though!

Sken decided at this time that this was his favorite ride! We hadn’t even been there one day and he already had a favorite! From there it was time to part ways and for one of the FP+ that I had been really looking forward to!!

We love the People Mover, too! We usually ask the CMs if we can stay on and take multiple trips around, and it's never been a problem.

Travel Day- Part Two

So Sken and I were off… to the Mine Train! The FP+ line went quickly and soon we were on the ride. I really liked it. I don’t think I would wait the two hours for it, but I would wait some time. We both enjoyed it!

After our little adventure helping out our favorite seven dwarfs, we decided we needed to freshen up. We had gotten the text that our room was ready so back to the resort we went. The two things I had requested was early check-in and a corner room. Well we got the room text at 1:44pm so I guess that it technically early, but we did not get the corner room. I was a little peeved but I got over it quickly.

The room was amazing! We were in building 95- Parterre Place, a Royal Room!

When we got there, our luggage wasn’t there yet. We unpacked our carry-on stuff, checked out the room, checked Facebook, and charged our phones. We had a dinner ADR at Planet Hollywood and needed to leave shortly. Thankfully a little while before we had to leave the luggage arrived. We were able to change and freshen up a bit before we had to leave. We decided to take the ferry boat to DTD.

We got to DTD a little before our 6:45 reservation. My aunt, uncle and cousin who haven’t been pictured were supposed to meet us there at 6:30. I got a text from Dawn that they were running late due to Myra getting a bloody nose and the busses being behind. My other aunt, L with uncle P and cousin O arrived right around 6:45. I went to the check-in to let them know that the busses were behind and that the rest of our party would be there soon. The check in host was a snot and was rude to me about it. But wait we did and eventually Dawn, AT and the kids arrived and we checked in again. There was a new host who was a doll and let us right in even though we were past the 15 minute grace period. We were seated on the first floor level and had two tables to fit us all. L, P, AT, O and Kaden at one table, and Dawn, Myra, Sken and I at the other.

Dawn and I had been looking forward to this for one reason. I can’t find the name of the drink on the menu, but we call it the big delicious!

We had two. They were both equally good. At one point, after we had finished our first, and were obviously feeling it, Dawn puts her arm up in the air to flag the waiter and says proudly “Officer, I’ll have another!” We died laughing. It was actually my Facebook status that night. I almost made that the name of this report too! So funny.

Dinner was good, drinks were better. The Dining system was down, which was a pain, but we ended up getting a credit on our room for the amount that we paid out of pocket. We used that credit too so nothing went to waste. While we were signing the checks, Dawn knocked over a water and it spilt all over Myra. However, it was like spilling in slow motion. Myra was pissed and we couldn’t stop laughing, mainly from the alcohol.

She then was upset because her dress was rubbing on her legs. I had chaffing lotion in my bag so we tried to pull her over to the side and create a barrier so she could put it on semi-privately. Well once this barrier was created, she started to put it on and all of a sudden out of nowhere this young boy pops up looking at us with bug eyes like “What’s going on here?!?”



Again laughter ensued and lasted for a while. We walked back towards the boats, and I got a drink in this fancy cup

We took the boat back to the resort and crashed hard. It was 10:30pm, we’d been up since 3am and we were tired. I love the People Mover too! I have rode multiple times in previous trips, however we didn't ask this time. It was a great first day! We were so tired by the end though!

So Mo just asked me in her PTR if I was thinking about a return trip. I wrote all this out and laughed so I figured I would share it with you all. As of right now there is no trip but..

Thursday after trip-
Me: "Sken can we go back now?"
Sken: "We just got back less then a week ago!!"

Friday night-
Me: "Why don't we go back we go back for F&W?"
Sken: "Don't you want to get married? We can't afford both! But if that means you want to go back..."
Me: "No I wanna get married, so we will wait."

Yesterday-
Sken: "Eddie and Christine are talking about going back to Disney in Aug."
Me: "Oh really? You wanna go with?"
Sken: "They think they are going.. have to see if Eddie can get time off."
Me:"Hmmmmm..."
