Has anyone owned one of these? We are looking at some used ones. I think they look really good but wasn't sure if anyone had had any experience with them. Thanks!

I've had mine (new) since Sept 1, 2008. Love it! I went with the 3rd row back seat because I swap cars with my mom when she watches all 4 grandkids and my car was the only one that could hold everyone. The only problem with that is there is NO space behind that 3rd row for much of anything (read piling groceries on top of car seats). But in August I'll be able to put the third row down and gain back that area. And whenever I need extra seats I've got 'em. Gas mileage could be a little better but for the type of vehicle it's pretty good. Went from a Sienna to the Santa Fe and the only thing I miss is my automatic sliding door. Enjoy!

We had a 2005 Santa Fe. It absolutely stopped working at 105,000 miles with no warning. Our mechanic said it was probably a defect in the engine.

If we ever owned another one of these we would be sure to trade it in before it hit 100,000. They come with a 100,000 mile warranty and I'm a little suspicious about ours becoming so unrepairable we had to junk it.

Please beware and make sure the one you are buying has many miles left on it before it reaches 100,000.

Two of my close friends have one and my SIL. Never heard them complain, but all have pretty low miles.

I had a silver 2002 back in 2002-2003 - traded it in for a Pontiac Montana for the extra room. I wished I had kept it. Loved it while I had it but I had one in a car seat, one in a booster and one in a seatbelt and all the kids did was fight due to the cramped 2nd row seat. That was before the 3rd row. Never had a problem with it though it was hit twice - once by a door - real good ding - about 8 inches long and then my cousin backed into that same area which I was lucky - got the ding fixed for nothing as it had more damage from him hitting it. The warrenty you have to pay extra for to go to 100,000 miles, the commercials were misleading at the time I purchased the vehicle. I had a 1996 Dodge Caravan that was on its last leg when I purchased this vehicle - it was between the Saturn Vue and the Hyundai Santa Fe. The Santa Fe road more like a car than the Vue at that time and that was the main reason we purchased it. The other thing was they gave us $1,500 for our van sight unseen. Saturn wanted to see the vehicle. I highly recommend the Santa Fe!

Don't have the Sante Fe, but I do have a 2007 Veracruz Limited Edition with 25,000 miles on it now. Love, love, love it. Will get another Hyundai likely when it's time to trade in. The few small things that have broken (some my dd's fault) they jumped right in and fixed.

 I have a 2006, don't get me wrong, I like it, but my milage stinks! I have the 6cyl 2.7 I get about 14 city & 16 highway! I live in SW Fl were we have no hills... and lots of stop and go traffic, especially during tourist season (Oct-April). Other than that, I do like it & have no problems with it. I have 33K miles on it.. My DH has a 2006 Tuscan and that gets a little better gas milage

A warning to ANYONE who is considering purchasing..while I do like my car.. they do not.. I repeat... do not hold their value in a trade...so I am glad I like it, I am stuck with it for a long long time....

My parents are on their 3rd, I think - not because of problems, but because of trading in older models for newer ones after 3-5 years because they like it so much. We almost got one or a Tucson last year but got a better deal (and like a little better for us) a 2008 Ford Escape. Wouldn't hesitate to buy a Hyundai. They are the 2009 highest rated JD Powers initial quality brand for vehicles in the "budget board" price range (beat Honda, Toyota, and all Domestics).

Thanks for everyones comments. We bought a 06 all wheel drive santa fe yesterday. It had 35,000 miles on it...car fax checked out great on it. Got it for right at 10,000. We both feel good about it...have heard mostly good things about it...will be the perfect size for us!

I think you'll be happy with the Santa Fe. We loved ours until it died suddenly.

I'd just keep an eye on the mileage and when it starts to get close to 100,000 - trade that puppy in.
