We loved staying in the cabins. It is a beautiful area. We decided to move to a mod because of the ages of our kids. Two bathrooms really come in handy with two daughters. We have done the movie night and had a really good time. The girls were far more interested in makind S'Mores that watching the movie but it was a lot of fun. Have a great trip!

I've combed these boards all afternoon trying to find out how long a charge last in the golf carts. I know they should be charged at night but just how long can you use them before they run down? With my luck I would be on the other side of the resort and it would quit on me. Also, can you ride them to WL?
Thanks everyone. I'm really enjoying this thread.

Sorry if this was already covered in this thread, but I haven't been able to get thru all of it yet. I was wondering if the Chip n Dale campfire singalong was every night & how do you find out which movie is playing. Also, where is this located? I have never been to the FW campgrounds b4.
    Thanks for your help!

In the Fall it changes to 7pm for the Sing-a-long. I was going to ask when exactly-October?

We want to make a trip over to see it. Planned on it last year, but never made it.

Per Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground Gazette (Resort Information And Services):

Can I drive my car to locations within Fort Wilderness, and where do I park?

No, motor traffic is permitted when entering and exiting the campground only. Please board the bus for all destinations within the campground. Parking is permitted for one vehicle at your campsite or Wilderness Cabin; additional parking is available at front desk.

This is where I received my info except now I've quoted it word for word. Your right, there are (4) 15 minute restricted space's in front of the Meadow's Trading Post for quick store convenience however, it is made clear that Fort Wilderness restricts the use of motor vehicles inside the campground and the ONLY place's to legally park is at your cabin, campsite, or front desk parking lot. Therefore, why give anyone (on-site, off-site, lurker's) the impression that they can "drive around FW" and have a few extra place's for them to park when they clearly cannot?

Also, Wdwluver's question was in regards to a golf cart, not rental cars or "crazy" pricing. The golf carts are on the high side, I totally agree. However when it comes to the campground, there's no comparing the two. No personal/rental car will change the fact that the use of cars/traffic is prohibited, there is no parking allowed except for the designated areas mentioned above,...and the (4) 15 minute Meadow Trading Post restricted space's are just that, 15 minutes.

It's never my intent to give inaccurate info so I hope I've clarified myself.

    Hi Everyone,
Hopefully I'm not the only coffee junky so someone might know this - I can't seem ti find that A coffeemaker is in the kicthen at the cabin. I would assume that it is but you never know. Does housekeep (ops sorry, mousekeeping) provide the little coofee paks like other hotels?

There is a full size coffee maker in the cabins. My husband can't remember if they provided filters/coffee packets since we always brought those ourselves.

When we were there last October we bought our own filters and coffee because All Ears said it wasnÂ’t included. However, it was. Everyday Mousekeeping left a couple of the coffee filter packs.

We stayed at the cabins in Dec. '08 and mousekeeping left us a couple everyday. We also took our own because we'd read they didn't but never even opened ours.

We will be staying in the cabins from 12/26-12/30. There will be 6 of us all over 20. From what I have read, we can only have 1 vehicle parked?? Does anyone know for sure? My son/fiance will be driving and the rest of us will have a rental vehicle. Has anyone stayed here during Christmas time? Is is decorated and if so, how long does it stay decorated?

    Thanks for any info
    Denise

Does anyone have pictures of the cabin pool? I've looked at the pictures here & think they are all of the main pool. I'm trying to decide if we should try to be in the 2500 loop to be close to it or just be closer to the outpost. Also, how are the internal buses in the campground? We have never stayed there & are looking at it for our Jan. trip.

There is paved parking available in front of each cabin for 1 vehicle and golf cart (with power outlet). Also, the cabin loop roadway's are very narrow therefore, additional vehicles cannot park on the street either. There is additional parking for guest's/extra vehicles at the resort's front parking lot.

Regarding the Christmas decorations...this is the answer per WDW Moms Panel:

The decorations will remain up at Walt Disney World until just after the new year. You can expect that the holiday finery will be in place through January 3. After that, the decorations will come down very quickly.

I dont have pics of the cabin pool but can tell you from my experience staying in 2500 loop; it is within close walking distance, basic/standard sized, and quiet (maybe a family or 2 w/ us). Also, the laundry facility is there so you can wash/dry at the same time. We enjoyed using this pool in the evenings after the parks.

Regarding internal buses...although we had a golf cart, we used internal-external buses a few times when the boats were shut down due to the annual Triathlon. Internal buses were average, ran every 15 min. However, the external bus took more like 25-30 min. Ft Wilderness was VERY busy at this time so I gave the benefit of the doubt external buses were running behind with the crowds.

If we rent a golf cart, is it ok to leave it at the boat launch on the days we go to the MK and Epcot? Thank-you.

ETA: Are there cabins in the 100 loop?

Yes, you can definitely leave your cart at the marina. There is a lot of GC parking there.

Regarding loop 100 cabins, there are 2 of them but they are very hard to get to stay in. From what I understand, they are mostly for VIP types, but sometimes people who are staying in a cabin for a short period of time get to stay in one.

    Hope this helps!
