37! When I was a teen, my mom and my aunt used to take my cousins and sisters and I across country in a motorhome and we'd take a different route every time. We travelled between California and Michigan which explains my lack of New England states. We'd also drive to Florida to visit the grandparents.

I had to sing Fifty Nifty United States to remember them all. :lmao:

Not counting a few states that I've only driven through (including, ironically, Delaware, which is our southern neighbor), I count 30. I've got a big gap in the SouthWest part of the country, but it is on my list of places to visit...

California
Colorado
Connecticut
Florida
Georgia
Idaho
Illinois
Iowa
Kentucky
Maryland
Massachusetts
Maine
Michigan
Minnesota
Montana
Nebraska
Nevada
New York
New Jersey
New Hampshire
North Carolina
Ohio
Oregon
Pennsylvania
Utah
Vermont
Virginia
Washington
West Virginia
Wyoming

I have visited every state in the country except:

Hawaii
Illinois
Kentucky
Michigian
Montana
New Mexico
Rhode Island

Someday I hope to visit all of them. And to add to what a previous poster said, I too had to run through the song "50 Nify United States" to make sure I didn't miss one.

I've been to 15 states. I didn't count DC since I live here and technically we are not a state.

32
