do they announce Free Dining? We are going next Sept with 2 families and thinking of doing the cabins and I know they often do free dining for Sept. We need to have finished paying by the beginning of August so how far in advance to they often list it? I was thinking if they do FD we might stay in POR instead of the Cabins. We are 5 and they are 4 but looking at the reservation system we can still fit all 5 in (kids getting older so after awhile they might not let us even though my daughters are real short. My oldest daughter is so short she looks up to ants. (well not really but she was looking over my shoulder)n and her sister is abotu 5',3" an has used the trundle, and the ledge, the last couple times.\

I mean if they offer FD it will save me about $600 on the room. We are planning on bringing our own food but I would love to eat on the mouse.

Also one other question in case my wife wants to stay in the cabins, which level of free dining do the cabins get? Are they considered moderates for this?

September free dining is usually announced for the general public in March/April/May. This year it was announced on May 6.

    Cabins are considered moderates.

Thanks, I am not counting on it. To tell you the truth out of my last 4 visits I did count on it but was happy I got it. The last two times I did November and had to switch from POR to AoA to get it while the time before it was ok where we at POR. The other two times were Sept but that was in 2010 and I couldn't remember and was surprised bu FD in June as I wasn't as savy then and hadn't made it to the site really at the time.

On the Mousesavers website, there is a spot called Historical Information on Walt Disney World Discounts where you can go to see when discounts have been released in previous years. You will notice that it varies from year to year but it will give you an idea of when to start looking. Also, Disboards is a good place to find out when a rumor is out about a release date.

This was actually very interesting, and can see some definite patterns.

Yes they is a pattern of some sorts, but the waiting and waiting is what drives me nuts.
