How about we start a "pictures of great Disney food" thread?

Here's something special from our recent trip.

I got to know Chef TJ, at Boma in the AKL, when I ate there every night over a series of business trips about a year ago. On my last night, then, he made me a special dish of shrimp on a skewer that was out of this world!

He recognized me during our last trip and made us this "family-sized" special dish (shrimp and deep-fried mushrooms over crunchy rice noodles and red cabbage -- yum!!):

And, as if that was not enough, he also made us this special dessert (deep fried Oreos with melted chocolate):

Chef TJ is AWESOME!!! :goodvibes :cool1: :thumbsup2

Photographically speaking, I like the way the entree came out (could be less table-stuff in the pic, though) but the dessert is overexposed (at least, the dish is). Does anyone have any good tips for taking better photographs of food?

Also, did anyone else have any particularly photogenic meals while at Disney? Let's share....

I am sure someone will make a big deal about the pictures of food being here. Not me, but whenever I put something somewhere, someone seems to always tell me where I should put it. The poster above is correct, there is already a thread about pictures of food, but it is over 500 pages.

Yeah, I know there is a 'food pictures' thread over in the Restaurants board....

However, I wanted to include not only the pictures, but also tips and techniques for good food photography ... especially in places where you aren't in control of the lighting, etc.

Taking pictures in a home/professional studio with all of the lighting you need/want is completely different than trying to do a nice job out of the studio and in the restaurant....

And, good food photography can earn some $$$ from the stock photo companies! ;)

was not complaining was not even saying it already exists was just laughing at what they call it over there. I for one would like to know how people take pics as i always feel weird thinking about taking my camera out and taking pics of food so any hints or anything of the like is welcomed

Taking pics of my food at WDW is going to annoy my DW to no end! However, she loves me and will get over it, *I think.* :lmao:

I'd like to know how people do it too. I was planning on just taking out the camera and snapping a quick pic and calling it good. I'm sure I'll get an ear full if I do much more than that.

I've taken lots of food pictures to share on other Dis food (or should I say porn ;) ) threads, especially the DCL ones. It got to a point where my tablemates were holding up their plates for me before digging in, LOL. I didn't take too many on our last trip, but as I go through them, I'll try to add.

Avoiding overexposure is a challenge when using flash. I think my old HP did a better job in this area than my S3.

While traveling in Europe this past April- I took food pictures of almost every meal we ate plus gelato. A friend from work wanted to see European food. Every meal I had to tell my family not to touch it until we photographed it- we forgot a few times and the camera battery died one night. I got some pretty strange looks from the wait staff and I did feel a bit weird doing it. My friend was in heaven tho! I made 2 small albums of just food- mostly vegetarian since we consisted of mainly vegetarians.
