Erg! I'm researching places to stay in Vancouver before our Alaskan next summer (yes, I know it's insanely early, but I like to get the best rate). We're going to be staying 2-3 days in Vancouver (mostly thanks to y'all going on about how awesome it is) and so we need something that doesn't break the bank ($150-200 USD/night price range) but everything is either 2 double beds or 1 king. DH and I aren't big people but no way, no how do we fit into a double together. And in a king, my DH will complain that my DD is kicking him all night long. I suppose with 2 doubles, DD and I can sleep in 1 bed, and DH in another, but then I'm the kicked one (DD is super squirmy in the night). What's the deal? I've never seen so many hotels with double beds!

Right now my best option looks like Hotel Blu ($180ish) which does have 2 queens or Hampton Inn ($190ish). Anyone else stay somewhere downtown in that price range with 2 queens in a room?

The pan pacific at Canada place has two beds. We got for about 200 per night on last minute travel. Booked well more than six months in advance

We stayed at the Pan Pacific and Sheraton Wall downtown and both rooms had two queen beds, and a lot of space in the room.

I just doubled checked and the Pan Pacific for the Deluxe Rooms (standard) are a King or Two *Double* beds, not Queen sized. I remember feeling like for what we were paying per night and how "fancy" it was it was a little ridic the beds weren't Queen sized. Not a major complaint but clearly they should have Queen beds!

I wouldn't hesitate to book the Pan Pacific but if the size is important to you, just FYI :)

I saw someone else mention last minute travel on another thread. I can't find it now. Can someone repost how it works? I remember that two tabs were involved and another website to get the code for the hotel, etc. etc.

Thanks! This seems to be the problem. That seems crazy to me. What's with all the double beds?!

Blue Horizon on Robson St. Reasonably priced and very nice boutique hotel!

This looks like it may be exactly what I'm looking for. Great location with nice rooms and in my price range. Thank you so much!

I'm already looking for next summer too…but we need something with 3 beds (my kids are too old to share anymore), I'm finding that impossible for under $400 a night :(

Glad I could help! We were very pleased with it and we even had a balcony! It's a short, 5 minute cab ride from the hotel to the cruise pier and within walking distance of shopping, public transportation and restaurants. The staff is so friendly and polite. They are always willing to hail you a cab or give you advice. If you plan on bringing some alcohol onboard, there is a large liquor store right around the corner.

Awesome! Looks like they offer a AAA discount, too, which is a plus for me! It looks like it's right at the heart of it all and has great reviews on Trip Advisor. How did I not find this? Boy do I love the DIS!
