Where's America?!
Our chariot - I mean Disney bus - pulled up to Epcot just before 7 pm.
The sun was down at this point, and the ball was lit up beautifully.

On top of that we walked in right as the Fountain of Nations show was starting. It seemed like it was a special Christmas version of the show too!
The song Carol of the Bells was playing in sync with the fountain. This is my mom and I’s favorite Christmas song, so this was a special moment for us.
We were starving at this point so off to World showcase we went!
I hopped in line at Kringla in Norway (AKA home of the glorious School Bread), and my mom grabbed us a table in the back.
I ordered a Norwegian Club (Ham, Turkey, Bacon, Jarlsberg and Muenster Cheese with fresh Tomatoes, Sliced Red Onion and Lingonberry Mayonnaise on Toasted Multigrain Bread) and a Ham and Apple Sandwich (Ham, Apple and Jarlsberg and Muenster Cheese with a Sweet Apple Chutney on Toasted Multigrain Bread). We cut these in half and shared them. The Norwegian Club was the clear winner.
I also picked up some School Bread because it would be a crime to not do so.
It was delicious. It was glorious. I miss it.
After our delicious feast it was time to join the line for the Candlelight Processional.
We hopped in a very long line, and promptly realized that we needed a restroom. Thankfully a nice family behind us in line offered to save our spots.
When we were ushered in we ended up sitting in the first row next to a sweet couple. The husband started up a conversation with my mom, and he eventually asked if she wished to see his “pride and joy.” My mom said of course, and then he pulled this picture out of his wallet!
Once we stopped laughing at this man’s jokes, the processional began.
We were seated directly in front of the percussionists. I’ve played the trumpet for 6 years, and I was heavily involved with band so I really enjoyed an up close view of this band.
America Ferrera was our narrator this night.
After the processional ended we hung around the exit hoping to see her, but she must have exited before the entire show ended. We saw the band, choir, and conductor exit, but we didn’t see America Ferrera.
We were waiting right next to the stage in America, so we decided to stay here for Illuminations which would be starting soon.
As always, Illuminations was fantastic! My favorite part of the show is the moment before the first fireworks shoot off and the torches are blown out. It always gives me chills!
This was the holiday version of Illuminations, and we had never seen it before. We had no clue what we were in store for.
The holiday finale was spectacular. My mom says that it’s her new favorite fireworks at Disney. I was pretty amazed, but nothing can come close to Hallowishes or Wishes for me.
At the end of the show we began the slow walk out of World Showcase towards the exit. After “Promise” plays after the show “Mela Wela” will begin to play, and I believe that it’s the best way to end the day at Epcot.
If you haven’t heard this song, play this at 28:15.
Sadly tonight, they played a Christmas loop instead of the regular exit loop.
We still enjoyed our walk to the bus station despite this though.
This was our last night and park of the trip. Keep reading for the wrap up post!
