Great update! It looks like you had a BLAST!
I love my Haunted Mansion shirt...I usually wear it on weekends and just relax in it LOL
Thanks I had a great time LOL!!!
I did!! It was a great morning LOL
Happy Tuesday!! I hope you had a great Monday!! Well going along with tradition Im going to start this chapter off with a random and no way connected thought. ENJOY!! Speaking of Mondays I had a great one
Prince Phillip and I are not ones to follow the norm. I mean we have two anniversaries, we do themed Christmases, I have a bear on my living room wall, and well you get the picture. So it should be no surprise to any of you that we decided to celebrate Valentines Day, yesterday! First of all if you think you are going to get me to a restaurant on the Saturday of Valentines Day you are crazy, besides the restaurant we love and adore is always so much nicer when its at sunset and relatively empty. Well, let me take that back Valentines started Sunday night when my Princy gave me my gift. This year he went with chocolate, I know shocker, however it has been a long time since I got chocolate as a gift. My dad for awhile worked as a freezer manager for Russell Stover and well you can imagine the truckload of loot we got around special holidays, so chocolate wasnt considered a special gift to me. Well Prince Phillip did himself well because he got me some of the best tasting chocolate ever, did you know they make a crème brulee chocolate
and its amazing
simply amazing. Okay so dinner oh was dinner fabulous! We went to a small Italian restaurant in our historical downtown district and we enjoyed ourselves. The bruschetta was by far the best I have ever tasted and my Alfredo was amazing. Phillip got the lasagna and it was also divine. What we like the most about this place is that everything is made to order. They dont have pots of sauce waiting on the stove, they make your sauce from scratch, and everything was delicious. For dessert, we both got the white chocolate bread pudding with a caramel and dark chocolate sauce. This dessert just knocked your socks off and to top off the evening the price was extremely reasonable. So I give my Valentines Day
two thumbs up! I wish you all a Happy V-day and many good memories! Okay now to what you really want to talk about
.Nobbys first monorail ride.
Chapter 9: Lets go ride the Monorail!!!!
After Nobby and I had finished our most delish breakfast at Chef Mickeys, we thanked the family next to us who had been so gracious to help us take pictures and we in return took whole family pictures for them and we thanked our server Jonathan. I live by certain rules and one of those rules is to spread common courtesy and cheer wherever I go. Now I dont always follow this rule but at Disney its so easy, just say thank you, say hello how are you, and share a wave or smile, its things little things like that, that make for a good day!!! Then Nobby and I decided we should freshen up a bit before heading to the Magic Kingdom and we were in the Contemporary, of course I needed to check out what a deluxe bathroom is like. (Okay another side note LOL, Im full of them today. I love reading the random threads on here and one time I found one on toilet paper deluxe vs. value, well without going into details none of us want to share or hear
yes there is a difference and thats all Im going to say about that). So after cleaning up and enjoy the greatness that is a deluxe bathroom Nobby and I needed to find our way to the loading area for the resort monorail. Of course when all else fails just follow the signs LOL!
Here are some great pictures of our view from the monorail loading area. You have Chef Mickeys and of course the beautiful windows.
Sorry about the window shot being so dark, Im working on getting used to my camera. Im definitely getting me a book on photography from my local library before my next trip at least get an idea of how to take good pictures.
Finally our chariot had arrived and Nobby and I were able to secure our own car to ourselves.
It was great, Nobby being the independent daredevil gnome extraordinaire that he is insisted on having his own seat and then insisted that he wanted his picture take, now you maybe thinking what a bossy gnome that Nobby is, but hes quite polite and made sure to say please and thank you often
he was well trained that gnome. So I obliged and let him sit on his own and I even took a photo to commemorate his first monorail ride.
(Okay, another side note LOL!! I will not try to explain to you how my brain works or how it remembers things because either I will scare you or you will completely relate which will scare us both LOL!!! However, I cant remember whose TR I was reading but I do remember that the poster mentioned the monorail having a smell. I totally couldnt remember if it did or not, but this stuck with me and yes I am here to confirm that the Monorail has its own distinctive scent. LOL
another attack of my randomness LOL)
Finally after what seemed like forever, but was most likely only 3 minutes we were headed on the resort loop. First stop would be the Poly! I was very excited to see this resort and I knew my chance would be coming considering Nobby and I would be dining at Ohanas for dinner on Sunday. The Deluxe resorts are just so gorgeous, for now I would have to settle with a picture from my window on the monorail.
After a brief wait to allow guests staying at the Poly to board the monorail we were back to flying across the Magic Kingdom area. This area is so gorgeous in the morning! Next stop was the Grand Floridian! Can I just say WOW!! Just WOW, that about sums it all up! Nobby was extremely excited to see this resort because he knew in a few days we would be back to be pampered and enjoy dinner with the stepsisters.
Then it was time, our arrival to the Magic Kingdom! I was so excited at this point, we were about to see the castle. Nobby and I were itching to get off the monorail and walk down the ramp and get to the turnstiles. This was the glorious site that greeted us
And we were there
the Magic Kingdom! What is the first ride of the day? What is that crane thingie doing in our pictures? Will we meet any characters this day?? Well guess youll find out soon!! See you later!!
PS: Yes I was able to make an entire update about a 7 minute ride on the monorail
I know like I said if I tried to explain to you my brain it would scare you senseless.
Great update, but I need more! I need more Nobby!! (Wow, that kinda sounds dirty!!)
I love riding the Monorail, but it does have it's own distinctive smell......and it's not particularly a good one!
More!! More!! More!!
Nobby's first monorail ride is a wonderful milestone. I look forward to taking him on his first plane ride. Yay for Nobby!!
Oh and in that picture of Chef Mickey's, you mention seeing Chef Mickey's and the beautiful windows but NO mention of the glorious light fixtures. Sigh.
I was going to leave the interpretation of the smell to the reader LOL!!!!
I will hopefully get more up soon I have to talk about our first day!!!
Yes Nobby was very excited about all his firsts LOL...It's amazing though how much I missed or how much poor Nobby missed...I'm making us a list LL!!!
Okay I know I failed on the light fixture pictures LOL!! But you know about future light fixture pictures that I took so that should make up for it LOL!!!!
Ahhhh, Nobby is too cute taking his first ride on the monorail!!!
Your dinner last night with Prince Phillip sounds delicious -- my stomach is growling now!
Jen I am with you about dinner on Saturday... it happens to be our anniversary as well.... 23 blissful years.... and we dated for 5 before that....
Nobby sure looks like he is having fun.... I am so exited to be planning my next trip that I gave up on a trip report.... maybe I will do a pre-trip report...hmmmmmmmmmmm
Love the update! I really need to get a move on with my TR. I'm just being lazy I guess. The monorail definately has it's own smell! I rather like it!
What a great monorail ride for Dobby!
And what a stunner of a picture of the GF! I love, love, love that hotel. I wish I could afford it.
Wow an update only about a monorail ride and guess what, I wasn't even bored!
Happy Valentine's Day to you! Glad you two had such a nice evening!
Thanks for the mid-week update. You will get no complaints out of me turning a 7 minute monorail ride into an entire chapter. As long as you keep a ready supply, I will consume as many chapters as you can produce!
Well I am glad to learn that Nobby was very polite! And you're right about the monorail smell...depending on the car and the day....old carpet? But it's still fun to ride!
I know Nobby is so cute at whatever he does me thinks!! Oh dinner was so good oh so good LOL!
Wendy I ask you so nicely to please pretty please right a PTR. I would love to hear all about your girls trip!! You guys are going to have the best time!!!!
WOW congrats on 28 years together.
Meghan...get started on that TR...no laziness!! I want to read about your trip with your princess LOL Well I will agree with you it definitely has its own smell LOL
Hey!!!!! I was a bit bummed at how blurry the Poly one turned out...maybe next time LOL...however I loved my GF picture it was completely and utterly fabu!!! Yeah I wish I could afford it too..only in my dreams!!
That is awesome...I promise more content in the next chapter I just work in sections and in my mind the monorail deserved its own chapter LOL
Well I'm going to upload my next of pictures in the morning and I will get started on another update YAY!!!
He is a very polite gnome! And yes I'm telling you fun to ride...definitely has a special smell to it!! LOL
