Hello all!
A slightly late H&L from our flying one day (ish) visit to DLP on the 22nd May!
We actually arrived on the 21st, and left after breakfast on the 23rd. Stayed in the Magic Circus Hotel.
Lows
Only being the park for one day - we're used to a good 4 days so it felt like we were rushing!
Being pregnant - ONLY in the sense of DLP obviously, but the walking seemed harder work as you can imagine, and the number of rides I couldn't go on due to lap bars (even Phantom Manor?!) was a bit over cautious I thought. Especially as I WAS allowed (and did go on...twice!) to go on Orbitron! That was a sight for the queuing guests - seeing a 30 weeks pregnant woman lumber in and out of those space crafts! lol

Food choices at Inventions on the Thursday (21st) evening. They weren't quite as good as last time we went and there seemed to be a large absence of any potato / carb accompanyment for adults! If you were happy having the kids hash browns or plain spaghetti, you were fine. But otherwise..... Everything was tasty though!
Crowds - a LITTLE busier than I expected, but it WAS a Friday and it WAS just before half term. Nothing major to really complain about and mainly noticed it at two times - trying to find a spot for the main parade 15 mins before it started (never had a problem before, but 'rope line' spots were mostly taken quite early on!), and the plus 30 min queue for Phantom Manor when BTM was closed. Yes, we've been spoilt in the past!! lol
Minnie's Train - they could have made MUCH more of this! A band of dancers before and after the train itself would have made it last a bit longer if nothing else!
Highs
Inventions Characters - we were really lucky! For a Thursday dinner time we met SEVEN characters! Mickey, Minnie, Eeyore, Tigger, Goofy, Captain Hook (a BIG favourite with DD!) and Pinocchio (never met before!). Great interaction, Minnie and Mickey especially were lovely and made a big fuss. Well worth it.
Weather - the weather was lovely all day! I caught the sun while sitting outside rides waiting for DH and DD!
Easy Access Pass - I am so glad we got this for this visit. Being pregnant I was entitled to one of these, and seeing as we've 'done our time' with the Princess Pavillion queues, I was more than happy to make the most of this. We unfortunately missed out on the Rapunzel meet and greet (forgot about it to be honest!), but with advice and guidance from the lovely Anemone, we picked up our appointment ticket with just a 2 minute wait, got an appointment for 12.45, and at that time had a 5 minute wait to see Merida! The lovely CM who took us in asked us who we'd seen before - I decided to list who we HADN'T seen! lol Merida was one off our list, so DD was very pleased! (For the record, the screens near the picture purchasing bit were all just showing 'coats of arms' rather than previewing pictures being taken with the princesses, so we had no idea at the start who the other princess was - and no opportunity to take photos of the screens thereafter! Maybe they've caught on?!). We discovered on the way out that Snow White was the other one, who we also haven't met, so either would have been great. But Merida still seems a bit rarer!
The EAP also allowed us to skip the 45 min queue at Buzz - which let me tell you I was VERY grateful for! I don't think my feet would have coped with that! lol
Peter Pan - not the ride, but the character! During the parade, DD was gripping hold of her new TickTock Croc - as the Peter Pan float went by, Peter came around to our side, saw her croc, and pointed at her, looked surprised, and made tick tock movements! Made her day - she's well into Peter Pan and Captain Hook at the moment!
The Ship near Skull Rock - for the first time it was accessible, and they had a lovely CM there dressed as a pirate who was happy to pose with the kids! So she met the Ship's 'captain'!

I think that's it for now! Well worth it for a flying visit, but we did miss not going on a few rides in the Studios (decided not to park hop and save a bit of money on the one day tickets for DD and me - DH has AP!) and we were exhausted by the end of the day (that's with us leaving at around 7pm ish I think for dinner!) - we didn't stay for Dreams! this time!
Roll on Easter 2016!
