This one is for DH, but not for work. He doesn't want to miss his fantasy football while we are on our Sept vaca! From what I can tell the rooms have internet access but it is expensive (9.95?). Is there anywhere at POR with Wi Fi? Do they have the cables for the in room access? What would I need to bring in terms of cables? Also, does anyone know if it is possible to just pay for a day or two? If we paid for our whole stay it would be too much money as we are there 9 nights, and on a tight budget. Any ideas for an inexpensive way to do this?

I have no idea if you can pay for just one or two days as needed, but your DH can go to any of the Deluxe resorts and they have free WI-Fi in their lobbies. Plus I believe ESPN World of Sports does too. Here is a link to a list:

You can pay for only the days you want. The $9.95 screen pops up every 24 hours. If you don't want the access for the next 24 hours, don't accept the agreement and your browser will not access the Internet. Or if your laptop is off and several 24 hour periods go by and you don't accept the agreement, you won't get charged for that time.

All resort rooms have an ethernet cable that you connect from your laptop to the router on the desk. (Look in the closet, plastic bag hanging) If the cable is missing from your room, housekeeping will provide one.

As to free wi-fi in the deluxe resorts...I've heard it's true at GF. On the other hand, I have heard that other hot spots come under the wi-fi $9.95 per 24 hour period charge -- which is separate from the wired $9.95 in your room.

Actually, that's not true. SOME of the Deluxe resorts have wi-fi access in public areas, but it is not free.

There is no free internet access at any WDW resort.

There is wired access available in every WDW resort room for $9.95 per 24-hour period. You can activate it for one 24-hour period at a time, and don't have to activate it for your entire stay. I tend to use it about every second or third day to check my email and do a little surfing.

Wi-Fi access is available at some of the WDW resorts (see the link that anonymousegirl posted for a complete listing). Wi-fi access costs $4.99 for the first 60 minutes, or $9.95 for a 24-hour period. Again, you do not have to activate it for your entire stay.
