    It's on tonight! :thumbsup2
You just need to let your Sawyer grow out his hair.
And teach him to use nicknames like "Jumbotron" and "Genghis." :lmao:

    Thanks!:cool1:

A Pig, a Bear and a Frog walk into a movie...Wacka, Wacka, Wacka....
Park day 3 - MGM aka Disney Hollywood Studios -
    Wednesday, 9/19/07 - Part 2

When we last left the Hicks they had visited the classic movies
and taken a wild ride with novice pilot at Star Tours.

Now it was time to do something as a family. :3dglasses

    Now what was it...hmmm....

Oh, yes, it's the Muppet 3D Movie!

I saw this movie first on our honeymoon, 16.5 years ago.

    And it's still good!

Much better than the other 3D offering at WDW back then.

    Wait for it.

    CAPTAIN E O!

Jam on it, jam, jam on it.... :rolleyes1

No, stop the madness, stop it I say!!!

    :faint:

Sorry, the flashbacks still horrify me.

    :(

    Ahem...

Thankfully, the muppets are gentle and kind and good.

    And funny! :thumbsup2

The queue is great, and one place that I don't mind waiting a minute for the next show.

Anything involving penguin humor is a winner in my book! LOL

We also discover a lot of new inside jokes among the
waiting-area props each time we go.

I have always loved the hecklers,

    the the special effects,

    and especially, the swedish chef.

"Veer deer de veer deer de, ver de doo de doo, veer deer de veer deer de, ooo voort voort voort."

Ah, doesn't that bring back the memories.

Remember when Mark Hamill was the guest host of the Muppet Show,
and C3PO and R2D2 made guest appearances? Sigh.

Anyway, we knew this would be a sure fire hit with our crowd.

My only beef with 3-D movies is that it is hard for me to get the full effect
    while wearing my glasses,
and not wearing my glasses is NOT an option
as I am blind as a bat without them.

    :cool1:

Besides, they make me look so intelligent! ::yes::

Otherwise, the movie was enjoyable, and, most of all,
    air conditioned! :woohoo:

We never really spend time in the gift shop, as it is a bit claustrophobic for me.

I also dislike the fact that we have to walk ALL THE WAY
around the building to find our stroller again!

    ARGH.

Anyway, from there we headed toward our lunch time ADR
    at Hollywood and Vine.

Details on that are in my food report, see the handy link below!

I forgot all about that horrible Captain E O. UGH!! I barely remember it now. I'm sure I liked it at the time, unfortunately!

I DO remember when "Luke" guest starred on The Muppet Show. He was SOOOO cute! ::yes:: Of course, I was probably 6 years old, or so.

I'm working on growing Sawyer's hair out after it was attacked by both Grandma and Daddy. :( Maybe not quite Sawyer-on-Lost-long, but longer than small-bowl-on-head-short. We still haven't watched the season finale. It's waiting on our Tivo, though!

Yah know, she won't LET me post my next installment! Slacker girl, that Heather it's sad, really..... :duck:

    Yes, that's me, over-achiever!!!! :lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2:

Brian and I were finished with everything in the park by noon the first year we went!

Actually, she almost DIDN'T name him Sawyer because of the guy on Lost! She thougt people would think she only did it because of that other dude.

I think you should laquer his hair up so much that scissors won't go through it whenever he is out of your sight!! Leave that poor baby's hair alone people!!!

Oh, what? This was Sarah's trip report??? I should mention something so she knows I read it???

I don't care for Muppet Vision 3-D, but it IS a lot better than Captain E-O!!!!And WHEN will they update the 3-D movie at Epcot???? Come on!! Honey I Shrunk the Audience??

I got a really bad case of what was probably food poisoning while watching HISTA the first time, and like those food aversions from childhood, I now have bad feelings about HISTA and can't make myself go back.

I'll stick with the other 3Ds. (Philharmagic is my fav!)

    Thanks for reading!

    I am so ANGRY!!!:furious:

My internet has been really bad lately, booting me several times a day,
and then yesterday, it worked ALL day,
    UNTIL...
I had JUST started working on an update,
actually had it 2/3 of the way DONE,
was just trying to get some pics loaded onto Photobucket,
    when SHAZAAM...

    NO INTERNET!!!

You probably heard me yell "NOOOOOOOOOOO!"
as the windows of internet closed on me.

I can never get all those witty words back again.
    Sigh.

Alas, I will try my best, but it will have to wait until tomorrow.
    :(

Are you running amuk on Sarah's TR?

:headache: I HATE when that happens!!!! I've started writing my TR in word and saving it every few minutes because that happened to me a few times (not with my TR, but other stuff).

Hey there MomOfMasses, have you ever noticed that when you type witty wisdom those are the posts that disappear but when you write something you wish you could take back it never does? That explains my postings but I am greatly disturbed because I want to know what I missed. I am sure it was the best you have ever written and that is saying something.

She has to have something to do when she's not screeching down my street, beeping the horn at me.
    :lmao:

Just Kidding T! Love ya, mean it!

    I'm sayin'!

Thanks! I appreciate the loyal readership. :thumbsup2

Soooo glad you escaped the floods. We have been having wacky weather, but not to the extreme everyone else is!

Thanks for the compliment. If only I was so good with the words coming out of my mouth thing in person. LOL

Update coming up, while I am waiting for our burgers to cook....

Oh No, There's an Earthquake AND a Flood!
    And...Flying Hands!
Park day 3 - MGM aka Disney Hollywood Studios -
    Wednesday, 9/19/07 - Part 3

As I was saying before my internet connection so RUDELY interrupted me....

When we last saw the Hicks, they were finishing up at the Muppets 3D movie,
had a unsatisfying, albeit interesting, lunch at H&V
(see my food report below...shameless plug, shameless plug....)
and, as mentioned in said food report,
were trying to meet up with Bionic SIL and Stitch Jr.,
who had bolted from H&V in search of the Power Rangers.

The rest of us met up with B. SIL and SJ on the streets of America,
where Stitch Jr. was doing the happy dance due to his scoring
    autographs from the Rangers.

We checked our times schedule to see what shows were coming up,
in attempt to plan the rest of our day.

    Word to the wise:
It is VERY difficult to see all of the shows at MGM/DHS AND have a sit down lunch.
This should be attempted very carefully,
as it might require an all out sprint across the park,
    plowing people over,
    and sitting in back rows.

Considering we had a double stroller,
    it was 95+ degrees,
and we weren't THAT desparate to see any of the shows
we decided not to push it.

The closest attraction to us was the Back Lot Tour.

We were so excited to round the corner and find
that there was no wait for the next tour.

    And so disappointed to hear
that several small members of our party wanted to use the restroom.
    :(

Oh yes, the great WDW bathroom tour continues. Sigh.

Bathroom taken care of, we came back to the line to find we now were wating for the next tour.
It wasn't a a bad wait, though, with the movie props,
    and giant cockroaches
[Watch out John, that one is trying to steal your hat!]
    to entertain us.

I have no pics of the bugs, but here is some movie props,
    courtesy of DisneyGirl -

I believe these are all from Pirates of the Caribbean:

This flag must date to WWII, and therefore be a prop for Pearl Harbor.
    How can I tell?
    Count the stars.

We then proceeded into the pre-show, and had the rare treat of being with a group of hearing impaired.

I say treat, because DisneyGirl and I love Sign Language,
and she has learned quite a bit on her own.
She doesnt' know enough to be comfortable conversing,
but she, and I, really loved watching the interpreter.
    He was GREAT!

When I said in my title Flying Hands, I meant it!
It was so fun to see him sign big signs like EXPLOSION
and watch the facial expressions he made.

Here is the fearless victims, ahem, I mean volunteers,
    of the pre-show:

And here is some of the tram tour:

Although this tour some what ended in catastrophe
(but that's what we paid for!)
    we really enjoyed it.

I liked it a little better back in the day,
when the Golden Girl's house was on the tour,
but the new version is good too.

MoM, I am so looking forward to getting fixed up so that I can go through the Backstage Tour again. I cannot stand in that line and have missed it. I loved seeing the old houses too but since I am much older than you I loved seeing The Beav's house among others. I liked the Christmas lights better back there too. Old fogey, I. :rotfl:

You have not trained your children to pee on que? Oh, yes you did but you forgot it was NOT the que as on line. :rotfl:

Watching the signers is like watching an elegant ballet sometimes.

As far as you being different in person. Nope, you are just as sweet, thoughtful and wonderful. A bit too nice though. No one expects you to shlep through the parks to excuse yourself from not meeting up for a parade ya know? Not me at any rate. Next time call my cell.

Wellllll...I don't really know sign language.
I have had fun with a few basic signs over the years.
We try to teach the babies some simple signs to help speed up the communication.

DisneyGirl, on the other hand, has really put some time into book study of it, and recognizes much more than I do.
But unless you can practice with "native speakers" it's hard to learn any language.

It was really cool to see someone fluent though! :thumbsup2

At least my kids don't pee IN the queue!
Having read some of the horror stories from WDW,
I realize that having a pee free waiting in line experience is not a given.
    :scared1:

I agree. We felt kind of guilty watching their conversations,
and that's probably not good manners,
    but it was soooo fascinating!

Hey, I was just excited to meet people I had known online.
I knew you were going to be in a certain spot,
and although our plans had changed, I didn't want to pass up an opportunity to say "hi!" :goodvibes
Besides, I'm the kind of person if someone tells me that they might stop by,
I expect them to do so,
and will be looking for them the whole time,
and not knowing whether you were the same type of person,
I felt that good manners would be to check in.

    I'm just weird that way!

It was soooo fun to run into people from the DIS.
My mom was just astonished how many people I "knew" at WDW. LOL

Have a great week everyone! :wizard:
