Hey DVC Members! How did you pick your DISboards User Name?

Whether you have been using the DVC Boards here on DISboards.com for just a day or over a dozen years, when you first registered, you had to choose a User Name.

Your user name is your identity online. When you’re posting here on the DISboards, your user name will be the first thing other people see. People will make assumptions about you based on the name you choose.

Have you ever seen numerous posts by someone and wondered what was the significance behind their name? Well, maybe now we'll find out in this thread.

Please explain.

In my case, coming up with my user name required a vast amount of imagination!

I'm a DVC member whose name is Mike. So, voila, I came up with "DVC Mike".

Boom! Amazingly creative, eh?

Feels like déjà vu being the first to respond to this topic...twice rfc - my initials, RFC is also geek for Request for Communication - apropos for online discussions, and RFC0001 led to the birth of the internet thus our ability communicate on it...and rfc was already taken

Interesting question....my user name fit when I joined after our DVC purchase in 2001...have 2 kids who played travel ice hockey for PAL .so palhockeymomof2 ...now both "kids" are grown up, married.....still play occasional adult hockey...and we still all going to WDW

1993 also was the same year that I became a DVC member. So when I learnt about the DISboards it just came naturally that I would keep this same name.

Fun thread!!!!! I found the boards when I was planning our DFTW (Disney Fairy Tale Wedding). It was originally going to have a Carl and Ellie theme from "UP!", but we ended up not really using that theme because the Grand Floridian couldn't come up with a good cake design at the time (long story...).

Also, my name is Michelle and my daughter is Noelle. Before she was born, we assumed her nickname would be "Ellie." But it never stuck and now her nicknames are Noey, Na-Nu, No-No, and Noelita. Everything BUT Ellie
