Here now, checked into BWV Saturday afternoon. Having a nice time so far.

It's busy but manageable, we attended a sold out MVMCP, just got rained out of our CP package (we chose to leave when it started raining hard). So not perfect but no real complaints EXCEPT using MDE...oh my word, it's acting just horrible. Can't pull up plans AT ALL on my phone with the android app (which just updated maybe last week). So on my phone i can't even see our adrs and fp's.

Working *very* intermittently on DH's iphone. We've tried on laptop, I can get it to work a little better on the website. But even then issues. Can hardly get anything to work long enough to modify/cancel adrs or fp

Very hard to make changes on the fly, which is pretty crucial during the holidays.

Just frustrated :crazy2:

Have you tried just opening up MDE in a chrome window on your android phone? That generally works better than the app, which I agree is awful.

I had this happen to me I went to GR and told them and asked the CM if they could print out a copy of my plan and there did

It's happening on the website too, but yes, i have had more success with that.

What a shame. I had minimal trouble with my iPhone. I'm here too. I used the Disney wifi and downloaded app. Don't use the website. No issues with fast passes, etc. just one restaurant I couldn't modify reservation. Good luck!

App or connection problems? At times last month I switched from wifi to 4G data on the phone and it worked better.

YES! I despise trying to use MDE in the parks. The app is trash. I have given up on it totally. The website much better and typically works for me but I have to turn off wifi. That is more trash than the MDE app is. Using data only and the website = me not wanting to throw my phone across the park.

I know this won't help with the changing on the fly but what I did each night was take a screen grab of our plans for the next day and I made that my lock screen on my phone. This way I could quickly remind myself where we needed to be and when without taking up much battery power on my phone and without needing to access the app/website. Again, I know this won't help with changing but I found myself checking fairly often just to make sure we were timing things right (some of our FP had overlaps, not exactly the same time so I found myself needing the reassurance we were running on schedule).

When we were there in March, I had better luck using 4G LTE service vs the WIFI in the parks. There was not enough bandwidth to handle everyone trying to use WIFI at times. Once I did this, the app worked much better, but then again, I was not using it to change anything and was using it more for viewing purposes of our ADR's and FP+ times. I also noticed on WIFI, my battery was draining much faster as my phone was working very hard to get a signal. Good Luck !

This won't help make and ADR or change/add cancel FP+ though and we are always making changes on the fly and adding that 4th FP+
I do take a screenshot of our daily plans so I don't have to open MDE if we aren't making changes just verifying times.

OP I agree - the app is so frustrating .... and we have had better luck doing as the pp mentions above! Turn off Wi-Fi and use the website if you can while trying to use MDE.

eta - I also keep my phone on airplane mode to save battery and just switch it to wifi or wireless when I am actually using it.

It's interesting how experiences differ. Except for some slow downs and app issue on the last day it was pretty much flawless for us. I was using a Galaxy S5 with the latest version of MDE.

We were there Dec 11-16. I have a galaxy s7 with most recent disney app version. I ended up using data in the parks, not wifi, because it was faster. One day my plans wouldn't load on my app and wouldn't show my photopass pics.

I had to uninstall and reinstall the app, then had to sign back in. It finally worked. But it was frustrating when I wanted to quickly check availability for 4th fastpass...

We were just there last week with no issues using the app on my iPhone. Except that in the past I stayed logged in at all times and this trip I kept having to sign in randomly which was a pain. Only time we had problems were when we were in areas with little to no service like under the tree in AK waiting for Tough to Be a Bug. I hope it improves for you.

Same here. Same phone as well.

We were there at the end of November/beginning of December and didn't have any problems.

I wonder what the deal is.

I've been trying to book a BOG lunch for our trip next month and the app keeps crashing. I was wondering how people were making out that were on their trip right now.
Hope it gets better for you.
Using a Droid if that makes a difference

I have an iphone and had zero connectivity issues 1.5 weeks ago. That being said, when it got slow I would turn off wifi and use data, which always sped things up.

I'm finding that to be the solution in many places. Haven't been to the world in a few years, but I'd expect the same trouble there.

When we were there last year, I didn't even bother with the wifi in the parks. I stuck to my 4g data, and had no issues. Plan on doing the same this week. There are just too many people trying to connect to make it a valid option. Back at the resort I'll switch to wifi.

I do that, too. It replaces the index card I used to carry in my pocket.
