    Hi, new to the boards.

We are traveling march 8-15, we are a family of 4. My grandparents that live in florida are going to meet us for a few days at our disney resort.

    My question is:

When making dining reservations should I do for all six of us at each reservation, not knowing which ones they will be with us for, or do I just make it for the 4 of us and hope I can add 2 on later?

    Also if I call to change from a 6 to a 4 or a 4 to a 6, will they treat it as a new reservation ?

    TIA

First of All, Welcome to the DIS.
You should know right away, you have asked a variation on a "Hot" question here on the DIS.
The answer you will get most is that you should make your reservation for the number of people who will eat at that meal! Booking a table for 6 when you only need a table for 4 is preventing another party who needs that table for 6 from getting it. Also there are a few restaurants that take a credit card guarantee. If you made a reservation for 6 and only 4 showed up, you would still pay for the "No Shows"
March is into Spring Breaks and it can be fairly busy. If you want to eat at popular restaurants in prime meal time it will most likely not be possible to go from 4 to 6 at that last minute.

IMO you need to firm up with your grandparents on what nights they will be dinning with you. As the PP said: you should make your reservation for the number of people who will eat at that meal.
