I am hoping my Dis friends can help me.

I found a great rate on Cheaptickets for a Disney hotel and need help connecting it to my Disney account.

I know I have seen this topic before but have no idea how to do it

Thanks!

Once you are logged into your MDE account, click on My Reservations and Tickets under the MyDisneyExperience dropdown. Once you are on that page, there is a button labeled Link Resort Reservation. If you click on that you can enter your Disney hotel confirmation number (not one from Cheaptickets) and last name to link the reservation.

Hope that helps.

From my experience with Orbitz, it takes 1-2 days before you receive the actual confirmation number that can be added on the MDE website.

I've booked through cheaptickets as well for the first time. All other trips have been through Disney or a DVC rental agency. I have my cheaptickets confirmation number but not a Disney confirmation number? Not to sound stupid but, do I need to call Disney for their confirmation #?

I believe Cheaptickets has to give it to you, not Disney

Yes pp is correct. Call Cheaptickets and ask them to call Disney to get the 12 digit confirmation number that begins with a 4. Tell them you will hold while they do this. I just did this a couple of weeks ago and I'm all linked in MDE.

I book with Orbitz alot - including several rooms in the past 2 weeks - and the 6 'digit' alpha-numeric confirmation code you get - immediately on the web page when it confirms it charged your credit card - works on MDE to link the reservation. No need to figure out or wait for the 16 digit number that starts with 4. (You will get that number in the mail from Disney, as well as on your magical express tags. I don't use it for anything, though.) On MDE - after linking the reservation - it shows that 6 digit code on my hotel reservation list. HTH. (Just didn't want you to wait around a day or two again in the future. I do have a faint memory that 2 or 3 years ago you did have to wait a day or two; maybe something changed since then.)

Hmmm... Maybe orbitz is different than cheaptickets. The number I received from them in an email didn't work in MDE so I called about 15 min after I made the reservation online and the woman from cheaptickets was very helpful and knew exactly what I needed. This was 3/15/16 so not sure if things have changed since then.

I have booked (and rebooked several times due to changes) with Orbitz recently and they provide two numbers on your email confirmation. NEITHER ONE OF THEM WORK WITH MDE. I have had to call Orbitz to get the number each time. Last year when I booked with them the necessary code was on the email, but since they were bought by Expedia (?) their system has changed. Once you get a rep on the phone it doesn't take them long now. I am pretty sure the number is in their system and they no longer have to call Disney to get it because they have never put me on hold or had to wait long at all.

Weird - I have booked 8 rooms onsite with Orbitz since 2/1/2016 (we're doing 2 split stays, and I change my mind alot!) and every time the 6 'digit' confirm number (not the "Orbitz locator code" that starts with PB) that I get immediately - on the screen after entering the credit card info - works to link on MDE.

BUT now that I'm thinking about it:
It is possible that I'm waiting 1 or more days to go to MDE and link at MDE (b/c I don't want overlapping reservations - always scared Disney will follow through on canceling both), so maybe that is the difference (guessing Orbitz has to upload the info to Disney somehow, and wouldn't be surprised if that isn't instant)? Anyway, I'm glad to hear of your experience, so I won't be worried if it happens to me. I save so much money on Orbitz (especially now using their Visa card) I'm willing to deal with extra steps.

Thanks for your help. I called Cheaptickets and spoke with someone who was very nice but musty have been new on the job. She gave me wrong info, so I called Disney and they helped me out in a matter of seconds. I'm now good to go.

Just to close the loop, I was trying to link my reservation immediately. So that may have been my problem. However, when they were still using the PB code numbers, the number I needed was always included on the email and worked immediately.

I had the same experience booking through Orbitz on 4/1. Got an itinerary number and a hotel confirmation number, neither of which was the Disney confirmation number needed to link in MDE. I emailed Orbitz and they contacted Disney and got the confirmation number I needed (12 digit number starting with a 4) so I could link it.
