Help!! I am searching for a dress for dd for a Feb event. A dress such as she might wear to church is fine. She usually wears a skirt and top. The dress styles are very interesting right now. Any good websites? She is 14, tall and skinny if that helps. I have tried looking at Dillards, Nordstrom, etc but we are looking for something a bit different than I see on their site. Everything seems to be sleeveless or shortsleeved and all seem ultra short! Thanks for your help. Budget would be great but I'm just looking for something decent right now. We are not ultra conservative I just don't see anything that seems right for the event.

Iam on the same path as you. My DD 14 is making confirmation in April, and graduating in May from 8th grade. I need to find something suitable as well. They have some ugly dresses out, and the ones my DD likes are a little too revealing for what she needs it for. When my oldest DD went through this we got her dress at Jessica McClintock. I think Iam going back their to check out what they got. They also have a website, Iam sure if you google it, you'll find it. Good luck.

Check J.C. Penny's. We needed a dress for DD13's first dance and ended up with 2. One for the dance and one for 13th b'day party on New Year's Eve. Rather on the $$$ side, both were over 80.00 each, but happened upon a sale that day and both were 40% off.

Try Delia's, Wet Seal, dillard's, Macy's and if your looking for inexpensive try Rave!

    Good luck!

My dd also needs a dress for Confirmation in April and 8th grade graduation. I have started to look but she isn't interested in the sleeveless, short dresses that are in fashion today. She also doesn't want anything too babyish. Please post if anyone finds anything.

Delia's was a favorite of mine when I was in high school (although then there was no website.. had to order out of a catalog! oh the horror), and it still has very cute and appropriate items! Here are a few I thought you might like:

    Brianna Shirt Dress

    Audrey Dress

    Angela Dress

    Emily Dress

    Jocelyn Kimono Dress

    Ella Shirt Dress

    Viviana Dress

    Madison Dress - SALE

Old Navy is also a good place to look. A lot of their things are work-appropriate, so they'd definitely be on the more modest side for a young girl.

    Cap-Sleeve Wrap Dress

    Tie-Front Wrap Dress

I hope these help, or at least give some ideas! :)

Does Wooden Solider have dresses for that age group, or would they be too formal. How about Kohl's junior's department. I also have a 14 year old and we can get size 0 in Kohl's.

My DD that age is tall and twig like. Se loves Delia's, Forever 21, Free People, Papaya. They all have websites. She also likes H & M but they don't sell online.

Talbot's is very classic. My girls have gotten their Easter dresses from there, and what I loved about the older one's was that it looked appropriate for her age.....
