Ok, I'm pretty sure I know the answers, but wanted to get a few opinions here!

My son has to label the adjective and noun in each sentence and I'm not 100% positive on these 2.....

    #12 Take this package home.

    #14 Beth is very pretty.

(do we include very and pretty on this one? Or only pretty and consider that very is describing pretty?? I teach MATH aaahhhh!!)

    Thanks much

In the first one, this describes the package so it is the adjective, and package is the noun. Home could also be considered a noun as well? :confused3

In the second one, Beth is the noun and pretty is the adjective. Very is an adverb, not an adjective, in this sentence. :)

    #12 Take this package home.

    #14 Beth is very pretty.

    This is an adj
    Package is a noun
    home is a noun

    Beth is a noun
    pretty is an adj
    very is an adverb

    Thanks much!
My son kept saying home was the noun telling you WHERE to take the packeage and I thought it was 'this'.. easier to ask you guys than fight with him!!
And OH YEAH, adverbs, forgot about those guys!

    Thanks so much

OK, so now I'm singing to myself
"A noun is a person, place or thing."
    and
"He was a hairy bear, he was a scarey bear, so I packed up my adjectives!" And if you don't know what I'm talking about then you're too young!

    Take this package home.

This is 2nd grade, but if they discussed commands, isnt "you" the subject and noun?

take is the verb, so take this package home is in the predicate...

You is the subject, but a pronoun.
