I need input from my fellow DISers about the procedure to bring a service dog on board a ship, specifically the paperwork needed to be filled out, timing of paperwork, sending paperwork to DCL or Bahamas, etc.
Background: We are sailing on the Disney Magic on 2/3/14 (35 days from today) with our DD and her family, including our DGS's diabetic service dog. My DD and I have been told about necessary procedure from DCL special services, but we did not receive the same information. I was told that a month prior to boarding, we needed to forward paperwork, including certificate from the vet, so that DCL can forward info to the Bahamas. DD was told to submit the paperwork up to two weeks before sail date. Today, DCL told her that it is her responsibility to get paperwork to Bahamas and that our window of time is now not enough time.
Please let me know your experience with this. Service dog needs to be on board with us! I appreciate all advice/suggestions/help, etc.
Thanks! Fielder the Super Dog thanks you, too!
