Can anyone help me figure this out or lead me in the right direction? I'm planning a trip for November and counting on free dining....quick service for value and regular for mods. I was initially thinking AoA family suite...we are a family of six...2 adults and 4 kids. BUT besides the hefty rack room rate, we have to pay to upgrade to regular DDP. So....I'm wondering what the cost would be to stay at POR instead...two standard rooms but I would pay the fee for preferred rooms. Nothing worse than being stuck in then back of POR!

It will cost you $47.38 per day for your family of six, 2 adults, 4 children, to upgrade from QS to TS plan.

QS plan
adult - $37.68
child - 14.32

TS plan
adult - $55.59
child - 17.16

upgrade
adult $18.01 per person
child - $2.84 per person

Total per day - $47.38

Further calculations - not knowing how many days you are staying, I used six nights.

Six nights in a family suite at AoA - $1,747.10
Six nights in two standard rooms at POR - $2,340.00
difference 592.90

If you stay at at AoA and upgrade to the TS dining plan for six nights it will cost an additional $284.28 for a total of $2,031.38, which is $308.62 less than moving to POR.

Taxes and other fees aren't included and I got the room costs from the Disney site. So take those numbers as a general idea only. :)
