i got an email today that magical vacations travel is doing their labor day promo again. i emailed to get pricing and was told that there are no GF CL rooms available with the promo. what a bummer!

So question - Since we are getting the MB will we not get regular KTTW cards as well . . . I was kinda hoping to have both so I can pull some regular FP plus too. I wanted to ask that here since it is so doom and gloom on one of the other boards where it is discussed at length . . . everyday! lol

Right now they have kttw cards. They told me we got some of last gold cards. I had our fp+ for evening and could use cards for old fast passes. (Did for morning).

Also I checked my photo pass pics and ones for test track showed up. Apparently they can "read" the mb's from the ride. We also went on space mtn and buzz but no pictures showed up for these. So who knows!

In your time mixing with the Mouse and his minions, was there word on start date for the room renovations?

Trisha, I just love that photo of the GF from the boat. What could be nicer than a sunset cruise? We love those little boats. Last time we took a ride from the MK at sunset, there was a mass of birds on the boat dock. The boat's engine powered up and it was more like a scene from Hitchcock than Disney. I have a photo of it somewhere. If I can find the memory card and figure out how to post a photo!

I have some more pics on my husbands phone. We got the Cinderella carriage and those sweet Mousekeeping ladies on the morning parasol stroll. Can't say enough how awesome that trip was. Next stop ... Hmmm the GF! January family trip here we come. Mil thinks she WILL come now. I keep asking. She will love the villas

Thanks, Beth! How sweet of you to comment...sometimes, just thinking about the GF can brighten a day!
I got that email too but don't you have to purchase a package to get the discount on the room? I wouldn't care if it was not CL, just to get a fab discount...but we don't like to book packages.

And, to answer your question about the room renos, Followthatmouse, a guy came into our room in Boca to measure the drapes or sliders, and said that the concierge rooms would be last; and I gathered from what he said that they would not begin working on RPC and SL until later in the spring. When I told him we planned to return in early May, he said that buildings 7,8 and 9 (I think) would be done by then. And one of the CMs in the SL lounge said they had not been told when SL would be closed yet.

Yes, dd and I stayed there in may'12. That was her favorite thing. Take some back to your room too. They only put out at tea time. She liked them so much she saved some for later

I brought some back to the room too. It was about time for tea time to be over, and the CMs said, take some, we're just going to throw them out! I wanted to dump the whole container in a large plastic bag and run with it! However, without the Devonshire cream, something is missing! (I can find that at Whole Foods but have to drive a ways to get it)

Well, you don't know which CL will be first, or if they will close the whole building. I can't see them closing all of RPC at one time, can you? I noticed today that when I try to book a future stay at the GF during the spring, that there is often not any availability when you would think this early out there should be. Maybe it's just the site, but I ran into it when I plugged in several dates.

I know I have had champagne with the appetizers. Cannot recall having bubbly with tea. If it is, HOW did I miss it?

not sure, as i am familiar with rack rate of GF RPC but not poly or BC off the top of my head. i will say that the poly standard room she just sent me was $212/ night. if i weren't headed to go pick my kids up from swim practice i would look up the rack rates for you on all ears for comparison!

grannyminnie i just looked it up and the standard view poly was almost exactly 50% off but the CL poly was much less of a discount. maybe 30%? so it seems to vary.
