Has this ever happened to you?

I don't see this being a virus.

Sounds to my like he copied the porn link and this while texting the wife "yes, do you need something" he accidentally pasted the link then hit send and probably at the very exact time his angus puckered up and realized married life was over for him.

Hard to believe that looking at porn would end a marriage, but I guess it might.

Yeah I just figured if DW brought it up to the sister then it must be a big deal to her. If it wasn't then she wouldn't of brought it up and kept that kind of stuff to herself so that it didn't give people ammo to hate on the man. If that makes sense. It could just be a little fight and no more porn for DH. Now if it were child porn, which it didn't dpsound like, then he should be dead.

I agree with you and I have no doubt that porn would be a marriage ending event for some people. I don't agree with that stance and that is what I was trying to communicate.

Was the porn of nude males or nude females? I would guess he was looking at porn on his phone (nude women) and had copied the link earlier and accidentally pasted it into the text. Your sister should look at his phone in his "sent" messages and find the text he sent to see if it's in that text from HIS phone.

While I don't agree with porn, it's certainly not the end of the world. I would venture to guess that a large percentage of men have looked at porn at one time or another. Just look at the millions who were signed up on Ashley Madison. I think that's a drop in the bucket compared to the number of men who have looked at online porn. Those who think I'm wrong are naive. The age of the models would be very concerning if they are in their teens

Did I miss something? Who said this was a pastor?

Could be someone was looking at child pornography and accidentally sent a link. (But then...I never heard of a pastor looking at child porn. Oh wait...) And who decides if it's not REALLY teens, and therefore not REALLY child porn? The pastor? The pastor's wife?

AH, ok, thanks. I just saw the post today so I must have missed it.

I thought it was odd to say anything about a pastor when it wasn't put in the OP. :P

I remember reading it, but now that I look back, I don't see it. I do notice the OP edited their original post though.

Yeah had to be edited. It was definitely there that the DH is a pastor.

I'm not an Apple person, so I don't know... How does autocomplete work on iPhones? I know on my Android, if I start typing Disney the web address for the Disboards is one of the autocomplete recommendations because I've typed it into the browser relatively often (I don't like the app). So it would be relatively easy for me to accidentally send the link. Could that happen with an iPhone?

It's definitely weird. Never had that type of error come up on a text. But I have had the voice text send itself inadvertently (just by holding the phone wrong) -- and you can't disable it on the iPhone which I don't care for.

Personally, I would just be upfront and ask. I don't see looking at porn (if it is not children) as the end of the world. It's pretty natural for guys to occasionally look at it now and again. As long as it's not illegal content or a huge hidden addiction then imho he's a pretty typical male, pastor or not.

I don't like snooping but if she's really concerned than she can check his phone and computers history. He's likely to have cleared them, but maybe that would give her peace of mind?

If anything she needs to look at the link and make sure it isn't young underaged children being exploited. I'm with Goofy Disney Dad that it is most likely 18+ aged women that is absolutely legal. However, if it isn't, she needs to contact the police with the link so they can track who is running the site.

It autocorrects words incorrectly all the time for me, but it never has sent a link to a website. The only time it corrects something with a non normal word is when you use that word VERY frequently. (ie, we have acronyms for work related lingo and those are saved on my phone as I type them a lot in texts.)

I get what you're saying with web addresses. iPhones do fill in. Maybe he was looking for something else, but he would've had to copy and paste that site for that to pop up in a text I believe. It doesn't save fill ins for web addresses for text messages. And I doubt teenage porn would be an automatic filler for the iPhone.

I'm guessing it just autocompletes for your browser. It shouldn't take an autocomplete for a web address and enter that into a text.

Oh, and there is no Disboards app any more.

I wasn't thinking it would be automatic, just that if it was a site he's visited often it might have been an autocomplete choice that got selected inadvertently. Not that it would be terribly reassuring if so; it would mean the husband has gone to that site often. But it was a possible non-virus explanation for how the address could end up in a text.

The way my phone works, if I start an address with http:// or www. it doesn't log it in its "smart" predictive system for future use, but if I just type Disboards.com that does get remembered. Which is why the DIS web address has made its way into text conversations where I meant to be typing "Disney"! :rotfl:

In the browser yes, in text messages, not really. You'd have to type it a lot within text messages.

And, how did the jump get made to child porn? I'm so confused.

Well a "teenage porn" site could be adults 18 and over OR could also be younger teens considered children...we don't know. At the very least though to me someone who is specifically viewing that, rather than the adult variety, is trying to view as young as possible while keeping just on the side of legal and seems very creepy.

Creepy is one thing. Going right to "it's child porn" is a whole new thing altogether.

Tried it. Doesn't work. :worried: If I hold it down it will still record message and send automatically. Thankfully my errors haven't been a big deal, but I really dislike that it sends automatically when released vs. you having to hit the send button.
