Has anyone decorated their Magic Bands? Please show us the pictures!

Sorry if this has been asked but besides using nail polish to paint and decorate your magic bands can anyone tell me what else they used? I have seen people say markers and paint markers but I am not sure what they mean. Any help and pictures of what you used would be great.

I used nail polish, tattoos, acrylic paint and acrylic sealer. Nothing fancy, just the tattoos you can find in the sticker/greeting card section at walmart/target/etc and the acrylic paint is the $.50 bottles you can get in the craft section anywhere. I do think I will use a base coat polish to seal them next time; the sealer on DD's band got rubbed when wet and the tattoo got messed up.

These are excellent. You thought you didn't have talent! Great job.

Thanks. I was really very proud of hoe they turned out and we got lots of compliments from CM's and other guests. And I had a lot of fun just seeing my family's reactions to them.

Now on to planning for DD2's trip in two years!

I was playing with the magicyourband website and came up with this for my dh. It's a pic I took of my dh at a movie theatre in a Star Wars cutout (sorry for the poor quality, I took a pic of my computer screen). It cracks me up but he says "no way"! I think I may order it anyway...

I have a 2-in-1 base/top coat. Will that work alright? I have a red band and red glitter nail polish. Going to outline the Mickey head in black I think.

Here are our three, we arrive tomorrow! I used a combo of nail polishes and acrylic paints and sealed it with clear base coat. I am not loving the smell of nail polish, though. Does anyone have any tips on how to mask the nail polish smell?View attachment 129471
These are so cute! Did you use nail embellishments for the designs?

Had a surprise quick trip to go with my daughter to the Halloween Party, so I grabbed one of our old bands and played around with sharpie on it. It was a hack job of the Haunted Mansion wallpaper faces. What I'd forgotten was way back in January 2014 when we first used them, I'd coated this one in the Pure Ice Black Light nail polish. When we rode Pooh and got into the black light area, I glanced down and realized it really does hold up well!

Unfortunately, it appears they no longer make that polish and mine got goopy and was tossed months ago.

I picked up a bottle of Glow in the Dark polish in the Halloween section of Target this weekend and will try that for our next trip to see if it works the same.

I also customized a sticker though MagicYourBand today from a photograph I took years ago, when you could still see the old character mural in the back of the Exposition Hall. I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out, at least on the preview. We'll see once it arrives!

IDK....I got some glow in the dark nail polish for my fingernails and it did not glow in the dark. Let us know if yours does.

I am not very good at decorating and I actually love the magic bands plain so I kept it simple and added a little bling.View attachment 130318
Yes! I love the simple plain ones too. I'm going to do my pretty plain as well. I have a sparkle black for the Mickey Head and then a sparkle pink to coat the whole thing, very light. THEY ARE IN THE MAIL NOW! SO EXCITED!

DisDining discusses new custom bands to be available in Tomorrowland.

MagicBands are about to become a lot more personable. Soon guests will be able to put their own spin on the bands. MagicBand on Demand will be a kiosk in Tomorrowland that allows guests to first pick a color.

Eight will be available, including purple, which is not an option with traditional MagicBands. From there guests can choose from 40 different graphics. The guest’s name can also be added on the outside of the band. The band will then be printed right away, and the ink dries immediately so there is no time spent waiting.

The new MagicBands will cost $21.95 for a custom design. Personalizing the band will cost extra, that MagicBand will be $29.95. You will also be able to create a D-Tech phone case at the same location.

Disney Parks Blog reported on October 22 that the new station would open on Friday, October 23, 2015. That blog entry has since been removed. No word has been released on whether or not the date has been moved back, or if things are still on target. The kiosk is supposed to be located inside the Tomorrowland Power & Light Co., which is next to Space Mountain.

You need to have a white background for the glow to show up

I have benn looking at all these wonderful bands and am completely blown away! So went out and bought paint and was getting already to paint ours when they arrive when a friend told me not to do it because they had painted theirs and when they got there they wouldn't work. Then my sister told me you just can't paint the Mickey head. But a lot of these are fully covered.

So is there a problem with painting them? Was it something else that caused the problem for her? Some of it was metallic looking polish but she said the other one didn't work either. Now I feel I bought the paint for nothing cause I'm worried to do it. I haven't seen anyone on here say anything about problems.

The only comments I ever seen on here about problems with the bands not working is when the Mickey head has been covered with a large crystal or something. Paint doesn't have any effect.

There are plenty of other glitches with the MDE system that could have caused her bands not to work. On our last trip I had some trouble with one of my bands, but the CM at our hotel was able to reconnect it to my account and it worked just fine after that.

That was my thoughts, I figured with all the people doing it you would hear about it not working. But you don't really hear anything about problems. Thank you for the reassurance!

I have been reading and have noticed some people say don't use acrylic paints other say acrylic paints are fine and others say just use acrylic paints on the solid part not the bendy part or it falls apart. So lots of conflicting information. Anyone have any thoughts?

Love everyone's bands! Very inspiring...

I have a question- I used nail polish on my bands (coated two with glitter nail polish and put a tattoo on one with 2 coats of clear topcoat) but the nail polish on my bands is cracking!! Has anyone else had this problem? Am I just using nail polish that's too cheap?

I'd love any advice- we're going next week and I told my son I'd figure out how to fix his band! :)
