    Pretty sure it's $165 pre-incentives.

I just got a quote a couple weeks ago from DVC and they said $145...did it go up since then? Did I miss a break?

I'm guessing that your salesperson did not share with you that there is a resale market where you can get points for 50% off direct prices. There is plenty of information about that here on the DIS, it might be worth looking into even if you decide not to go that route. Good luck! :)

I wouldn't count on exactly 50% ... :)... I think resale prices for some properties have been trending up. Especially BLT and VGC.
I haven't really found any resales for under $90 for BLT unless they're really stripped.
Forget about GCV, everything is snapped up at over $100/pt.

You're right, I think 50% is low. The fact of the matter is that with the exception of VGC, most other properties can be had for more than a 50% discount. Even in today's market with the rising prices.

May I ask where you've seen BLT resales for less than $83/pt? We've been looking and the best we found was $90 and that was with 2013 points forward only, nothing banked.
    Thanks!

There are people on the "other" boards that have gotten BLT through in the high $60s and low $70s, though those were before this feeding frenzy and before BLT was considered "sold out." The other thing to remember is what you see on the brokers' sites are asking prices, not what someone has paid.

These are only asking prices you need to negotiate to get the best deals and be prepared to stick to your limits and walk away from one deal and find another of necessary

We just attended the DVC presentation on the Dream, and the link to the prices on dvcnews sound consistent with what we were told. Things to consider - there are advantages to buying direct from DVC, especially on how and where you are able to use your points. Of course, that comes with a price premium. Compare maintenance fees for the resorts you are consider buying, because you'll be paying those every year whether buying direct or resale. Also, I own at AKV and BLT, and unless you want to always stay at BLT, I wouldn't pay a $20 per point up front premium. We love being able to walk to MK, being on the water, and at monorail resort. But we also love AKV, WL and BCV. Each DVC resort has good points and bad - just depends what you want.

It's not easy, but they do exist. As Missy said, the list prices are only asking price, you are free to offer whatever you want. Loaded contracts are harder to come by and it does take a lot of negotiating, but the point is that the potential is there, if you are willing to work for it. Most people pay close to asking price on a resale and are happy with that. I don't blame them, it's quick, easy and it's still a great savings over direct. I just enjoy trying to pay as little as possible, so I enjoy putting in the work. :)

With all its current year points used and next year's points borrowed and used. So you buy, but don't have any points to use for quite a long time.

Interesting ... It's just that I have not been able to even get our foot in the door with less than $90/pt. we tried several times 4 contracts with 3 different brokers offering around $80-$85 and pretty much was outbid within less than a day.
Oh well I guess it was not our time then :)

Just remember you can be creative - a few years ago I bought SSR contract and it had 3 years worth of points coming within 6 months. We paid 59.00PP and right after we closed I rented 1 years worth of points out at 10.00PP which I put the proceeds towards the purchase. Brought my cost down to 49.00PP. Right now I am in ROFR same situation if I pass I will rent out 1 or 2 years worth of points for a reduction of 10.00 to 20.00PP. I will still be left with 2013 and forward points if I rent out 2 years worth!

I completely understand. I think my problem is looking for a specific UY when the inventory is already low. Luckily we already got one and we are happy to lay low for awhile until we see something we're willing to pull the trigger on.
