I definitely hesitated over the "moral dilemma" of double-dipping this way, I really did.

In the end I figured F IT! ;) The system is a mess right now & since I've only done it during low crowds in Sept & then essentially gave up that spot by riding SB anyway, I refuse to feel guilty about it. Maybe I'd better go grab my flame-retardant suit now though.....

When we have paper FPs that we won't be using, we usually spread some pixie dust and give them to another family.

In the past we have done this 100% of the time with extra passes. But after this system rolls out fully, paper FPs are a thing of the past & we wanted to hang onto a few before they are completely gone. It's not like we pulled 100 for each ride to sell on ebay.

In my opinion, those who were/are extremely fastpass dependent, late park arrivals and non planners will have the biggest problem adjusting.

This new system will put even more value on arriving at rope drop for those who plan on hopping.

The ability to go to Magic Kingdom (and not need FPs) to knock out some of the headliners and high capacity rides, then eat lunch at Ohana, then casually head to Hollywood Studios where you have FP+ reservations for Toy Story, Rock N Roller Coaster and Fantasmic will be a HUGE benefit for alot of people...but a major PIA for others.

This pretty much describes us to a "t". My nephew has epilepsy and his triggers are exhaustion, stress and dehydration. When we go to Disney, we don't stay late and we don't get there early. We are completely fast pass dependant. This FP+ system will benefit us greatly.

Agree with earlier posters about current process not being reality for users and especially with reference to September. We visited September 7-12 and used FP+ as well as our AP's and KTTW cards. Many times we did not end up using all of our FP+ and several times we did not use our FP's. Many rides were 5 minutes wait or even complete walk-ons.

WDW emailed us a survey regarding the Magic Bands which also included quesitons about FP usage.

I was worried abouth FP+ when I first started hearing about it. I really enjoyed it under the current "non-reality" process. I think it will be great if it is setup with additional numbers available and some park-hopping capability. Also, my wife has a smartphone which adds to the convenience.

So if we have a magic band on check in at POFQ we'll get a KTTW card too? I guess it just doesn't make sense to me that if our park tickets and room key are on the Magic Band what will the KTTW card be for? Identification as. Resort guest?

Right now, backup. There are still alot of glitches, although those occurrences seem to be becoming less frequent.

Also, not everyone might want to use the magic band. The KTTW card offers an alternative for people like me who refuse to wear any "jewelry" other than my wedding ring.

The KTTW cards are still functional as backup - to open rooms, pull FP, charging privileges, etc.

Just to be clear, they are testing the actual technology. The number of FP+ and how they are used are not the focus. They need to make sure the system works. Once the technology is in place and is functioning properly, they can start studying behaviors and what not to make the adjustments to how many FP+ they give each person a day. So double dipping does not at all effect the validity of the test.

The ability to go to Magic Kingdom (and not need FPs) to knock out some of the headliners and high capacity rides, then eat lunch at Ohana is impossible since Ohana doesn't serve lunch. Feel free to mail me my prize.

I wouldn't participate in the FP+ testing if I wasn't able to double-dip. When I go in October, we'll be double-dipping whenever we feel the need to - honestly I'd prefer to stick with regular FP that utilize the FP+ options we have. We're 26 days out and haven't really looked at the FP+ options so far... I'm not really even motivated to bother with it but hopefully I'll get around to booking some rides. As long as I have regular FP too, that will come before FP+.

Yes. They're still asking to see them for EMH at the ride entrances :)

I think this is because they have the dates printed on and the MB do not. It wouldn't be very fair for non-resort guests to be able to sneak onto rides with an old band ;)

When we were there the 1st week of Sept....the CMs never asked for our KTTW card for EMHs, they would just look at the band and say you're good to go (this was pm EMH nights at MK and Epcot.). I didn't think about it at the time but they really would have had no idea if we were current resort guests, but I'm guessing it wasn't high on their list of priorities as the magicbands were just in testing. - Same thing happened at Fantastic!...the CMs had no way of knowing if we actually had a fastpass for the show but we just showed our magicband and they just assumed we did (we did) and let us in the section.

Ah ha! But NO ONE knows what the reality is going to be.

I believe that the "double dipping" as people call it is close to reality. I think you will be allowed to make 3 ADVANCE FP+ and then pull more on the day you are in the park - in whatever park you are in with the advance FP+ you have not affecting it thereby having fastpasses in multiple parks.

What I don't know is how they will determine when and how many "day of" fastpasses you will be able to pull. I don't think that 3 FP+ in HS for TSMM at 3 pm, RnR at 4 pm, and TOT at 5 pm will prohibit you from pulling a 10 am fastpass for Peter Pan in MK.

We entered the park using our Magic band. When we tried to use our card to get regular fastpass, we received a pass that said, NOT valid due to not using this ticket to enter park.

That's what I'm worried about. I thought I remembered hearing in the past that you could only get a FP with the ticket you used to enter the park.
