Memory Makers magazine
Memory Makers magazine
From my IT Security Specialist dh: This can only be done if you fail to utilize spyware removal programs. If you're vigilant about making sure your computer is "clean", you won't have a problem.MrsPete said:I used to subscribe to this magazine, and I'd love to get it again . . . but I read the privacy policy. By accepting the magazine, you're giving "them" permission to track your online movements (though they say they do it through an assigned number). They'll monitor and record the websites you visit, the amount of time you spend there, and more . . . and they're going to give this information to their "third party affiliates". Under the section titled "special circumstances" they admit that they may give out personal information to others. What does all that mean? Well, among other things, if you order anything online, they'll see the page on which you type in your credit card. If you're looking up information on delicate personal things (perhaps AIDS or abortions), someone will have a record of you doing it.
These people are very computer savvy, and the threat of identity theft and invasion of privacy is very real.
I advise anyone who's looking at this free magazine to read the privacy policy carefully. Speaking only for myself, I found it to be too much.

I've been getting magazines from them for a couple years now and NEVER had a problemVickie46 said:that really scares me.... now that I have already done it.. but I have got a few other free magazines from them.. I haven't had any problems with theft that I know of.. like my credit card info etc... I hope its not aproblem
I think I'll go with my dh's 20 years of expertise on this one. If he says it's safe, I have no worries.MrsPete said:If you've read the fine print and you're comfortable with it, great. Personally, I'm not okay with giving anyone permission to "follow me" online (and to give any information they may find to a third party). As for firewalls and security measures, the hackers have proven themselves to be a formidable force, and you might never know what they're finding out.
