When school's out, kids around the country come to selected Regal Entertainment Group theatres for our Free Family Film Festival. It's a fun-filled nine weeks of movies for kids and their parents. Since 1991, Regal has provided this service to the community, and best of all it's FREE!

All G & PG movies start at 10AM each Tuesday and Wednesday during the festival. First-come, first-served seating is limited to theatre capacity. The Free Family Film Festival is safe, lots of fun and a great way for kids to spend a weekday morning in the summer.

Thanks for posting this Mal! There's a Regal Cinema less than 5 miles from me. The kids loved doing the summer movies a few years ago. I'm glad to see that they're continuing the practice. Looks like there are quite a few that I haven't seen yet!

What a great idea! Thanks, Mal.

Anyone remember the Disney Summer Film Festival? When I was a kid Disney released their movies weekly for matinee fare. You would go and see a cartoon short or two, a full-length cartoon and a full-length feature film. I was little in the early 70s - that's when I'm remembering this from. It was a great way to keep up with the Disney library!

I was just asking my mom about this and she had no idea what I was talking about. I am so glad someone else remembers! But for some reason it seemed to be in the winter. But not sure on that.

I only remember Cinderella. It was HUGE here. There was a parade, down the main street in downtown with the mice. Big deal. Then we all went to the "fancy" theater downtown that did not usually show movies anymore but was for stage productions. But every town has one with the velvet drapes and fancy ceiling. It was the first and only time I ever saw a movie there and we got to sit in the balcony! Too cool! And the mice introduced the movie. It would have been in the late 70's. And I think it was for kids only, no adults allowed?

It is all kind of blurry and I may have blown it out of proportion a bit but it is a really big memory of childhood for me.

With all the rain we have been having, this sounds like a great idea! For those in Nassau County, I found this theater. See ya there!

I know there are a couple of larkers in the Bel Air, Md area. For them and any others who live nearby next weeks movies will be:

The Rugrats Movie and The Wild Thornberrys

Remember the doors open at 9:30am and the movies begin promptly at 10:00am.

Hope to see you all there.
