I'm debating about whether to book this for my daughter when we arrive (she's almost 4)

Dd you think it was worth the money?

I'm wondering whether to do it one morning before we go for lunch at auberge with the princesses or if this would be best saved for another day?

How long is it start to finish approximately?

Was there a disney photographer at the makeover? I'm not the best at taking pics myself.

Did anyone take their own princess dress / accesories from home instead of buying their package with the dress etc?

Just wondering if my daughter will miss out on any 'experience' if I did this (I'm imagining her standing in front of tons of princess dresses and being able to choose one herself or is it not done like this if you bave the whole package? Ie. does someone go off to get the dress she requested and bring it back)

Sorry for the tons of q's, just can't imagine how it all works

We've just returned today and my daughter had this on Sunday. I opted for the package without the dress whuch included a tiara, make-up, hairstyle and photoshoot ( I purchased a Disney Dress here and took it with me). the package cost 75 Euro and in my opinion was worth every penny. My daughter s 5 and is princess mad! You book in the shop in the hotel and take away the tiara and dress if you've chosen that package and then arrive 5 mins before your 20 min slot. First they do the hair, the child sits on a lovely tall plush pink chair in front of a decorative mirror, my daughter chose to have half of her hair up and the back down, I think they tend to give each child (hair length depending) the same style. Then they move to the opposite side of the mirror for the make-up. We chose the face paint rather than full on make-up. Once done you then move to the back for the photoshoot with the photographer with various props etc., I took lots of my own snaps as well. Once completed we took lots more in the gorgeous backdrop of the hotel. My daughter loved the experience and got lots of attention in Cafe Mickey from the characters and the Princess Pavillion where everybody asked her to twirl and she was called princess by all of the cast members and characters. I don't feel that my daughter missed out on anything with me not purchasing the dress package as the dress I took was new ( disney paris deluxe one bought from Ebay at a fraction of the cost- the dresses are 75euros there) and the only low was 2 little girls arrived early for their appointments and so she had an audience.

Thanks for your reply :) I'm glad your daughter had a magical makeover.
I think I will do the same as you and take an extra costume with me, thanks for the advice on that.
Did they have a disney photographer there for your daughters makeover? If so how much were the photos to buy?
We arrive on Sunday about midday - when should we be booking? I don't mind which day she has the makeover but thinking about for before auberge.

Did your daughter wear princess dresses around the park every day? That's what I'm planning on for my daughter, she loves to dress up but isn't keen on face paint - hoping to change that when she's there as the face paints look beautiful.

Did you get your daughter changed into her princess dress before you headed to the hotel for the makeover?

Hello :wave2:

My daughter had the makeover in July last year. I think it is definitely worth the money, it is such an amazing experience for little princesses! She had the makeover and we went to Auberge afterwards, she had so much attention from CMs in the park and at Auberge, she loved it.

The photographer takes photos at the end, I also took my own but I loved the ones that were taken. She had the package with the dress included, but I've seen reviews of other people who have taken their own dresses and had the hair and make-up/face paint and they haven’t missed out on anything. When I booked it, everything was put together ready for the makeover. I booked it in advance as I was worried it would be fully booked the day I wanted it. It was good that I was able to leave all of the makeover things at the shop and arrive 10 minutes before our time slot to get her changed into the dress.

I got one photo free with the package I had, I bought three others, think it was around 24 euros for those and I got the shareholder discount off that.

Thanks for your reply :) it sounds like its definitely worth it, have added it to my list of things to do, will book the day we arrive. What time did you book the makeover and auberge for? Want to make sure we have enough time on the day to do both without rushing around.

Does the photographer take a lot of photos? Are you able to view them there and then or do you go back?

Would love to see any photos people have from the makeover x

The photographer took around 20 photos and they were available to view in the shop straight away. It was 15 Euro's for one but tbh I'd taken exactly the same photo's as the photographer so didn't buy any additional ones. My daughter walked around all day with the dress and the make-up on and I booked it for 11am so that she got the whole afternoon wearing it, the face-paint didn't smudge so I thought it would be a nightmare to get off at the end of the day however it wiped away with a baby wipe in one go!

Thank you :) do you know if you can buy that photo pass thing where you pay around 35 euros for so many pics (is it around 5 or 7) as would def want some pics but couldn't afford them all

My DD had the makeover in November - they didn't have the photographer on then. It was a lovely experience, we took her own dress (Rapunzel from US Disney Store) and bought a beautuiful tiara from the shop inside the Castle.

Here are some of my (not brilliant) photos...

Posing by the Christmas Tree...

They do get a fuss made of them and the characters will bow/curtsey which is funny!

I am hoping to do this again on our next trip with her Belle dress!

Thanks for sharing your photos, your daughter looks beautiful and so happy with her makeover.
Do they have different options of hair styles or just the one?
I'm assuming they won't have the Christmas tree there in June so wondering what the backdrop for the photos will be.
I'm definitely going to book.

Do they have a lot of choice of accessories in the shops in disney?
I'm thinking of buying a sleeping beauty dress and wand to take over but haven't seen a sleeping beauty tiara so hoping there will be one there.

I booked the makeover for 12 I think, but we got there early so she could get changed. The photos were available straight away. With the photos the more you buy the cheaper they are per photo, I had the photo pack that has been mentioned but it was the same price to buy the photos in the shop, however I just bought the three.
Originally I booked Auberge for 3pm but she was tired so after the makeover we took a slow walk there to see if we could get in any earlier, we got there at 1pm and luckily we could go right in.

I did post a little report about the makeover, this is it - http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2967712 :goodvibes

I meant to add there were different hair styles offered, either half up half down or all up, the style varied slightly, my daughter just chose what the one she wanted.

I've just rang to book and the earliest time I could book was 2:30pm it must be booked up before this time. I might try when I get there incase there have been any cancellations and we can go earlier, if not it'll be fine.
What time should I book the makeover for if we stick to the 2:30pm reservation at auberge?

How many princess dresses did you take for your daughters? I'm thinking of one per day to wear round the parks, and then a normal outfit for evening time or do girls stay dressed up at night?

little Princesses stay dressed up the whole day, every day, if they prefer to :goodvibes.

I'd say around 1:15pm, that will give you enough time to have the makover, look at the photos and also include extra time just in case they are running behind or anything. We had the makeover at 12 and went straight to Auberge and got there at 1pm.

We take one costume per day and she wears them all day and night. A couple of occasions she has worn normal clothes but mostly the princess dresses.

Thanks for the replies.
At the risk of sounding dumb - do you just put vest and shorts underneath them to keep them warm?
My daughter only ever wears them in the house, and don't want to have to put a big thick coat over her dresses for dlp as she won't be happy if she can't see them lol

Hi, do you book this on the same number as restaurant bookings?

Today was the first time I'd booking anything but yes I think so. A lady on here gave me the discount dial number for France for cheap calls, then I dialled the restaurant bookings line.

It's not dumb! I'm not much help with this, in July she didn't have anything underneath because it was hot, in November it was cold so she wore thermals underneath! I'd see what the weather is like, when are you going?
