Foodwise, how does HDDR compare to Whispering Canyon skillet

Selection-wise, these seem very similar but I've noticed that HDDR generally gets better reviews.

Is the food really better at HDDR, or is it just because the overall experience is better (or, perhaps, with alcohol being included at HDDR, people THINK the food tastes better:p).

The ribs at WCC are prepared in the HDDR kitchen before being brought over to WL so they're the exact same at both. I got this info from a chef at WCC when we were reviewing allergy safe options. If anybody says ribs are better at one over the other then it's purely atmosphere, or alcohol, influencing them.

As to the rest of the food, you have a lot more options at WCC but IMO the quality of the food is similar at both.

The skillet is no longer an option at WCC. It was replaced this fall with an "all you care to eat" platter. I don't think ribs are even offered anymore, but I may be wrong.
We love the food and atmosphere at HDDR. It is a dinner show, not just dinner.

Right, the last time we ate there was before the change in menu. I guess I really don't know when it comes to the current menu.

Pork ribs are still a selection available for the dinner "platter" (they don't call it a skillet anymore). They don't serve anything else that is also served at HDDR. WCC has baked chicken, while HDDR has fried chicken.

menu was good and the food excellent but they have changed it twice since and it has gone downhill big time.

The Hoop Dee Doo on the other hand has always had good food. they have made changes over the years. It used to be corn on the cob now it is corn off the cob. They added corn bread which is very tasty with the honey butter on it :)
