Heading for our third trip to disney with a year break in between and one child with an anaphylactic list of allergy foods....any new changes since may 2011 (we had no issues at that time anywhere, emailed special diets before we went and all our chefs were fantastic!) my main concern is the bread as my son loves his toast in the mornings and I've just learned its been changed? Last trip we were able to buy slices at WL in the morning, the counter service person actually let me look at the box the bread came in to be sure!

Yup, lots of changes in products since 2010. Breads are either Udi's or GNI now depending on the location. Cookies are either Enjoy Life or OMG It's Gluten Free (a few places may have Kneeds still I think but they only bake these on request) and brownies are OMG It's Gluten Free. Did they have a dedicated gluten free toaster at WL when you were there? I know at Pop one year a chef told me they did but at Poly they didn't have one. Make sure to verify.

Special Diets has resumed sending out dietary reference sheets so email them shortly before your trip to get the latest and greatest product info. The reference sheets don't include which regular items are gluten free but they do list the gluten free specialty products which are available.

Thanks, I will be sure to email special diets again for sure.....we are not dealing with a gluten concern thankfully, nuts/eggs and a handful of other things but my son is now allowed to have small amts of egg in items so that is a little relief to previous years!

I must have gluten on the brain. I have no idea why I said that. They send a separate sheet for each top 8 allergen so you'll get one for eggs and one for tree nuts. If he can handle eggs baked into items then he'll have a lot more options which is good.
