Then what? How do we get to the boat? Anyone ever do this?

What time would you arrive? Are you taking Disney transfers? (If so, you'll want to stay at the Hyatt or somewhere near the airport). Are you taking a town car service? (If so, you'll want to stay at the airport or at the Radisson in Cape Canaveral). Are you renting a car? (If so, you can stay anywhere on the Space Coast. Lately, we have started flying in the night before (from Chicago) and getting the airport Amerisuites via Hotwire (going rate seems to be $33). They have a free shuttle, and there are restaurants within walking distance so we can have a nice dinner (TGI Friday's is right across the way)...if you prefer something a little farther, they will take you free in there shuttle if it's within 2 or 3 miles. Then we use Happy Limo the next morning to take us to the port. We did this in Nov. and it worked out so good that we're doing it again in March and April (couldn't in Jan. and Feb., as we already had same-day air booked).

We booked our air through Disney, and they put us up at the Hyatt both times. I think you can get a reasonable price there on Priceline, but probably not as low as $33. While the Hyatt is definitely more expensive, its very convenient, especially if you're taking the DCL buses, as they meet you in the lobby of the Hyatt on the day you sail. So there's the added convenience of not having to get back to the airport in the morning.
