You post a thread that says something like "Here's our 11/17/16 Magic cruise meet". Then go to the main Cruise Meet Board and post a message asking to have your link put in the first post list. Be sure to put your link in that post (the "Here's our....." post you just made).

To make a link, go to the post that you started "Here's our...." and copy the address at the top of the page (www.disboards.com/threads.....etc), then paste that in the request post as the link.

What you need to do is copy the address at the top of this post (the "www.disboards.com/threads/find-...." one) and then go here: http://www.disboards.com/forums/disney-cruise-meets.85/
and post saying "Please put this link on the first post for the 2016 Magic cruises" and then paste the address you copied into that post.

At some point, hopefully, IrishCowboy will see your request and put the link directly in the first post of the "Find your 2016 Magic Cruise Meet LINK Here" thread.

Yes, those are basic guidelines. However, there are two separate threads at the top of the main Cruise Meets Board stating some additions:

The first in July 2014:
The DIS has been home to Cruise Meets for many, many years now.

We recognize that there are other options for hosting these discussions, but have begun to receive complaints about the way some of these options have been managed - excluding some members, private forums, argument about who is "in-charge", and meet discussions hosted by people not even on the cruise.

Threads for Disney Cruise Meets (including Fish Extender programs) are welcome here just as they have been since DCL began back in July, 1998.

The DIS continues to be committed to providing a place where Disney Cruise discussions of all types are welcome and encouraged. We will no longer provide opportunity to solicit DIS members for other forums/social media. This includes direct links, "search" instruction, PM and email contact.

Links to Cruise Meet discussion/Fish Extenders other than those on the DIS may not be posted or offered by any other means (PM, email, search directions) and we expect that those who have posted such links/offers will remove them.

And, from Nov 2014:
It has come to our attention that our members have received solicitations to post their information on other sites including Facebook and Google Docs.

We have had complaints from several members that these turned out to be solicitations from travel agencies and other forms of advertising.
We have examined the policy of other cruise forums and have found that they have policies forbidding this.

In order to protect our members the DIS Webmasters have decided to institute a similar policy. Moving forward there will be a new infraction "Attempting to lure DIS members to post private information on other sites". It will be a 40 point violation.

Links to Cruise Meet discussion/Fish Extenders other than those on the DIS may not be posted or offered by any other means (PM, email, "search" directions) and we expect that those who have already posted such links/offers will remove them.

We also encourage DIS members to let us know if they are solicited via private message or any other means. This policy was first posted in early July, 2014 and has seen minimal compliance so additional emphasis is now being placed on the issue.

As always, the safety of our guests is our number one priority.
