Finally, now that everyone is healthy again I can get down to business.

CKC Manchester Trip Report
Cast- little old me age-32 and holding :teeth:

I was sent on a scouting mission by my secret society sisters for the main event: CKC Valley Forge July 2006

DUN-DUN-DUN

It was a dark and stormy night, the fog so thick you could cut it with a paper trimmer. Ok really it was raining like heck and I couldn’t see my nose let alone the car in front of me. I knew a storm was brewing so I booked it down the road as fast as my Montero would take me. I was hot on the trail of a Massachusetts driver who had apparently just left the casino. He was swerving and swaying, zigging and zagging.
Do you think he was:
A) drunk
B) tired
C) po’d cause he lost all his money
D) all of the above

My vote is
D) all of the above

Side Note - Sorry SplashMt99 I didn’t get to beep and wave as planned because I was on the phone with the fuzz. This dude was really making me nervous.
I hit the Mass line, drunk/tired/po’d guy pulls off on the Shrewsbury exit (good for me) and as an extra special bonus the sun came out and it stopped raining! (for now)
The directions from Mapquest were great up until I hit the N.H. border. For future reference Exit 5 (Simon St.) not at all correct! Mapquest and the Radisson neglected to mention there are 2 exit 5’s. I opt not to take the first exit 5 because the directions clearly states Granite St. exit. So I push on….and….on….and on.
Did I make a mistake? The numbers are going up, 10, 11, 12…. Where am I? I stop at a toll, give the man my $ .50 and get directions. See I’m a girl, I can ask directions, it’s ok.

“Take a right, then a left onto 3 and eventually you’ll get to Granite St.”

Ok now I’m getting nervous, teens waiting for the school bus, road work, and me driving just don’t mix.
Wait, what is that in the distance, it looks like… no it can’t be…
AH HA!!! It’s a hotel, not the right one but where there is one, there is usually more. I pull into a commuter parking lot and ask a cute construction guy where the Radisson is. (I love my job!)
He eyes me suspiciously. Do you think he knows? Does he suspect I’m meeting with more people like us, paper hoarders and sticker hounds?

“Elm St., I’m looking for Elm St.”
“Oh, 3 street lights and hang a left.”
“Great thanks.”

Whew that was close! I park my SUV among the mini vans and other various mommy mobiles. I have never seen so many mini vans in my life, from Mass, CT, N.H., VT, and even Canada. I must be in the right place.
I head upstairs and there they are, my sisters, my partners in crime. They are everywhere, I am home!:cloud9:

I’m early so I grab a muffin and water from the singing deli guy. Way to chipper for me that early in the morning but alas I digress for $3.50 I got breakfast and a song. You can’t beat that. I plop down at a table and am instantly greeted by a woman who was also alone. She was waiting for her business partner. See these ladies are our fearless leaders of our society or our paper pimps, however you want to look at it.:rotfl2: They are opening a scrap store in Springfield Ma. (Only 1 1/2 hours from me!):cheer2:

8:15 am – time for my first class, Inspire Your Style.......

DUN-DUN-DUN

Great trip report, Buffy. I can't wait to read the rest. :)

Great report! Keep them coming!!!
I love your reporting style.. "Mommy mobiles".. I thought I was the only one that called my mini-van that! :teeth:

Glad to hear everyone is doing better.. I'd be wondering where you had been.. it wasn't July with the vacation time!

BTW: What did you buy in the shopping spree for you alone?

Too funny! I can't wait to read the rest. I'm interested to hear what you thought of it. This was my first one and I had mixed opionions. I'll chime them in later. ;)

Hey, I resemble that remark. hehe

At least in MA, we don't put the exits from the highways on the LEFT HAND SIDE. :teeth: ;)

Buffy

CKC-Buffalo was great!!!!! I did not take any classes only went tot he Vendor Faire.....Although there weren't as many booths as the Memories Expo I went to in Orlando last year....I still managed to spend some $$$$$$

Understand about us Massachusetts drivers...well, some of us! You are safe on the road with me driving - really.
But, one comment got my curiosity = where in Springfield are these ladies opening the scrap store? I work there. Thanks. :thumbsup2
