WE ARE HOME!!!! BUMMER.
Can't wait to start sharing with all of you but it may have to wait until tomorrow. We are still unpacking and such.
What is better than returning home after a fun filled vacation??? Returning home to all the mail and finding a package for your NEXT VACATION!!!
I can't wait to start planning for our cruise in June.
As soon as I get some pics uploaded, I'll be back to start on this TR!!
Welcome back to reality, stinks don't it.
Welcome home!!! I know it bites being back in the real world, but I am looking forward to hearing all about your trip (and that package of cruise trip stuff that came)!
Can't wait to hear all about it
How cool, you have another vacation to plan for
Now enough with the excuses! Get crackin!!
Okay missy!! I'm on my way to check yours out too. I hope you've started yours!!
Once upon a time in the land of alligators and bayou's, there was a family of 3 who desperately needed a vacation full of fun. This is the story of their family adventures to Walt Disney World....the "happiest place on earth".
I'm sure most of you know how this will start from reading my past trip reports. We have a LONG drive ahead of us. 9 hours the first day. We left around 5:30am and arrived in Tallahassee around 3 or 4 pm. The drive itself was pretty much uneventful except for the part where we stroll into Florida, get our free shot of OJ at the welcome center, get back in the Yukon and all of the electrics were out!! It started and we were on our way but didn't realize until we were on the interstate that nothing else was working. No radio, no DVD, no OnStar!! We pulled into the next gas station. I attempted to call OnStar on my cellphone only to be told they can't do a diagnostic's check if the electrical "stuff" is not working. GREAT. DH got out and checked the fuses. Sure enough....a fuse was out. He quickly bought a new one and put it in and everything came back on. THANK HEAVENS!! I was starting to get nervous.
We continue on our trip. We spent the night in Tallahassee and left at 5:30am again to head for Orlando which is another 4 hour drive. When we woke up the next morning, the temp was 22 degrees! After about a 45 minute drive the temp dropped to 19 degrees. OMG, I thought we were in FLORIDA!!! We left the cold rainy weather back in Louisiana. We knew it would be a little chilly this time of year at WDW but were not prepared for THIS!! Luckily, as we drove on the temp started to rise. When we got to Orlando it was around 65.
Here are some pictures of our drive...........
The usual sunrise over the Atchafalaya...
Approaching the Mississippi river bridge in Baton Rouge...
LSU stadium. GO TIGERS!!!
Let's go I-12 it's much faster...
I've done the pictures of the Mississippi sign and the tunnel in Alabama during all my other TR's. Why don't we just skip ahead to......
Blue Angel's jet...
Let's get our shot of OJ....
Much taller than last trip...
(just to give you an idea of how fast he is growing, I bought those jeans 1 1/2 weeks before this picture. They were long on him when I bought them. Look how short they are!!)
Up next.....getting to Orlando, our non-Disney hotel (for 1 night), DTD, and DH drives a RACE CAR!!!
Welcome home Blue ! Can't believe those temps That' W.N.Y weather not Florida!!!!I 'm waiting for your next update !!!!!
Trip Report Mojo!!! Heck ya! It was Cold!!!
Brrrrr... sounds like the weather up here! I hope you didn't run across any more temperatures that cold!
Hope the temps don't get that again during your trip...
I'm so glad your husband knew what to do to get your electronics working! Mine wouldn't even know where to find the fuses!!! ... neither would I, so we really would've been up the creek!!
Off-property hotel ... I hope your's was better than our's last time!!
So excited to read more!!
How scary about all the electrics but so glad that your DH knew to check the fuses! I would have had to call my dad.
Can't wait until you make it onto Disney property!
We were pretty shocked by the 19 degree's.
It was funny on some of those cold nights. You could tell who was from the south because we were all bundled up. Those from the north were walking around in shorts.
Luckily it warmed up a LOT! One day it was in the low 80's at WDW.
It didn't. It was warm-hot during the day and cool at night (50's)
Well, he had to read the manual to find out where it was. But at least he had the idea that it could be a fuse. I wouldn't have known that.
I would have had to call someone too. I wouldn't have thought of that.
Welcome home!!!! I can't wait to hear all about it!!
It's funny what a little fuse can do!
They do grow fast, don't they?!
I can't believe how chilly it was, but thank goodness it warmed up.
Glad the wire issue was easy to fix. It isn't a real roadtrip unless something goes wrong!
Oh - and isn't it actually "Geaux Tigers"???
Separate names with a comma.
