I was so excited to see snow this morning too. I thought about you and your son this morning. We had fun. Brennan made about a two foot snowman and a snow turtle. I woke Grace up and showed her the snow but she was more excited with our Christmas lights. I did get a good picture of her and Brennan. It snowed a little more than this in '88. I was sad because Courtney had to go to school because of finals and a project she had to turn in today. I let her take my car. I was so nervous about her driving in the snow. She made it to school safely. I don't have any pictures of her in the snow because she left so early. I will post the pictures for you when Faron downloads them to the computer. I let Brennan stay home until the snow melted. We haven't seen snow like this in twenty years. I sure wasn't going to make him go to school untill he was finished playing in the snow. My MIL brought him to school for me and checked him in about 9:30. I am glad you and your son also got to enjoy our rare treat to snow today.

OK thats the funniest snowman I have ever seen! So far here in wet and chilly NY I see no snow and I'm hoping for none because tomorrow is DH & my "anniv" (of the 1st date) and we plan to be out and about in the city and snow would just stink!

It is wet and cold here, too. It is just bone-chilling. We have all been cuddling with mugs of hot chocolate tonight.

I feel your pain about snow!! We are expecting our flurries on Mon & Tues.
26 yrs in Vegas, and the snow's only stuck to the ground twice. It was awful, no one knew how to drive in it!!:rotfl: :rotfl:

How fun about the snowman and turtle! :rotfl: So glad Courtney got to school safely. Hope she did super-well on the finals! Can't wait to see your pictures. You have to come back here and post them when they are uploaded. Glad Brennan got to get some good snow playtime. :thumbsup2

:lmao: I know, that poor dirty snowman. He lasted until today sometime. When I drove by this afternoon he was just a small ball with a scarf and twigs laying beside him. :scared1:

It is HUGE news. :rotfl2: We NEVER see snow. Everyone goes crazy when it snows here.

    That's the best part!! :surfweb:

:rotfl2: It's like everyone here forgot how to drive! It really wasn't that bad but some people are just idiots, I guess. :confused3 You know there is ice and snow around, don't just stomp on the gas when the light turns green. :headache:

Me too! He absolutely LOVED it. I'm bummed I didn't get him on video. His smile while catching snowflakes on his tongue could have lit up the night. :cloud9:

I am sure the excitement would wear off eventually and I would get sick of it too. It was just a very rare treat for us.

Oh wow! You got a lot more than we did. I can see now how Brennan stayed home and played for a while. :rotfl: BTW, your home and land is very beautiful!

Yay for your snow!!! Boo for the wet stuff. That's pretty much how ours was. It "looked" pillowy but when you touched it, it was just a slushy mess. :rotfl2:

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: I would get sick of it after a while too!

    Rare indeed! :goodvibes

Time for the final installment of "park goals"!! Hope you are all ready for Christmas. I also hope those of you up north are keeping warm! [IMG]
Since there are so many seperate place for us to go for Christmas every year, we are doing the annual Christmas party at our house tonight. We both have divorced parents so we have had 4 different places to go every Christmas until DH and I got smart and started hosting Christmas here for his mom's side and my mom's side. That way we only have 2 other places to visit after this. (our Dad's houses) Before this we were having to run around TOO much.

Anyway, back to the PARK GOALS.....

The past 2 February trips we included Rafiki's Planet watch but skipped it in May. We might be doing this again since it saves time. If we end up with more time than we thought then we may head back there. The past 2 trips we have missed the walking trails. We haven't done this since 2007. We may try to do at least one trail this trip. Also, in May we missed the safari ride because we didn't get fastpasses right away. We opted to grab FP's for Expedition Everest instead. This time I think we will do it the other way around. Besides, if we can't get a fast pass for EE, the single rider line usually moves pretty fast.

Here is a list of the rides we like the most and are on the top of our list:

Expedition Everest (me and DH - swap)
Dinosaur (me and DH - swap)
    Safari (all of us)
Triceratops spin (all of us. one of DS's faves)

The one new thing at this park that we are trying to do this trip is FESTIVAL OF THE LION KING.

We've never watched any shows at this park so we plan on trying to catch at least one show and paying more attention to the streetmosphere this time too! I love the guys who play the calypso music. Can't think of the name right now but after the last trip I bought their album on itunes. LOVE IT!! I will be taking it along for the drive to our Cruise in June.

So, this concludes the park goals for AK. Short and sweet. Here are some pictures of past trips......

Great idea for the christmas party!
We don't have much family near us, so it cuts down on alot of stress. Those that are here come over christmas day.

I think you'll love FOTL! It's my favorite show in AK.

That is a very cool picture of the Tree of Life! We have yet to catch FOTLK, either, and I am putting it on my list for June!

Hope you had a great time at your holiday party!

I can't wait to see FOTLK.
We had a great Christmas party. So nice to spend time with the family.

We had a great party! Thanks.
I really feel that I'd like FOTLK better than Nemo.

    Thanks.
    We had a wonderful time!

    Thank you.
From all the pictures I've seen as well as the little bits and pieces shown on the Travel Channel, I'm thinking it's going to be a GREAT show!

Thank you. You have a fabulous Christmas too!

Mmmm, Ham!! I love cooking a big ham.
