We are sailing in September, and have 800.00 in obc to spend! It's just hubby and I and our four young kids. Aside from booze, what are your favorite ways to spend OBC??

With four young kids in tow, I'd guess your OBC will not go to booze so much as coffee, smoothies, souvenirs, snacks at the shows/movies, time at the nursery if any are young enough for it, the arcade...

Probably a cabana rental and tips will chew it all up!

    Favorite:
Stuffies for the kids in the gift shop
Something nice for DW in the gift shop
    DCL beer mug and refills
    Cafe latte in Cove Cafe
Photos from Shutters...not a whole package just 3 or 4 of the best pictures.
Gratuities...I know sounds weird, but those CMs work really hard for the most part. Next cruise were going to single out one CM and add something extra.

    Least Favorite:
Arcade...I mean really, we have to pay extra for this?
Snacks at the movie theatre...this irks me too, we bring our own.

I start with the initial goal of having enough OBC to cover my tips. Anything over that is "gravy."

I suspect your cruise is 6 or 7 nights, so with 6 of you, the suggested tips will put a large dent into your OBC.

KCashner is right on the mark with her comment. I believe tips for a 7 day is $84 per person. That will take a chunk of your OBC.

Someone had mentioned bringing your own snacks to the movie or show. I thought you weren't allowed to bring any food on board.:confused3

You can bring prepacked sealed food (although we got away with bringing prepacked unsealed puffs when DD was a baby). They don't let you bring homemade food. We brought multiple bags of Popcorners for the evening shows on our past sailings.

Ok thats good because we are staying in Cocoa Beach for 2 days after the cruise and I wanted to pack some snacks for that. I called DCL and they said no packaged food. I guess they don't really enforce it though right?

Whoever you talked to was confused as packaged food is fine to bring on.

We spent ours on tips, photos, a couple of gifts and bingo. Bingo was the only thing that we really wasted it on but we wanted to try it and since it was use or lose we were happy we did without actually spending money for it.

Cover your tips and then look at booking a couples spa villa. We did it on our honeymoon and it was AMAZING.
