What are your favorite FE gifts you have received? I am particularly wondering about the adult gifts. Kids are easy enough to please.

thanks!!!!!

88 days till our first DCL trip on the MAgic!

On our last cruise we got a really cool cruise music CD! I still listen to it leading up to EVERY cruise we take! I love it! It has the DCL horn, Jimmy Buffett, Pirates in the Caribbean songs, Disney songs, and other tropical music on it. It was the neatest FE gift we got and we are 2 adults!:rotfl2:

P.S. Have a MAGICal first cruise!!!!! And be prepared for the addiction to DCL that follows! And be sure to book onboard if you're thinking of taking another cruise in the next 2 years, great discounts and an awesome OBC!!!!

Oh wow that is a REALLY hard question to answer... so many delightful things. Some very useful, some very cherished, all just a delight to receive... I can't answer this question sorry. :(

For adult gifts, we loved candy from Canada/England, homemade stationary/notecards, little bottles of rum, and these amazing Disney Wonder cut out cookies!!! Oh yeah, on our Jan 3 cruise, calendars/planners, too.

we received handmade ornaments with our sail date on them....I love them...one was hand cross stitched and one was painted.

We got a packable tote bag that was really nice. I saw them in the giftshop for $6 or so. They folded down into a small packet that you could tuck into a bag or purse and then unfold as needed. I'm sure you know what I mean. It was just such a handy thing to have while traveling, took up very little space, and continues to be both useful and a nice reminder of the trip. I may do the same thing (one per cabin, not per person) on our next cruise.

I have to say the least liked things were plastic coins and plastic junk that took up a lot of space, the kids liked it, but it created a huge problem due to luggage restrictions and we ended up mailing home (from Spain) a box of basically useless stuff. I'd prefer consumable (candy, postcards, stickers) over plastic junk.

FE=fish extender gifts
Outside each cabin is a fish clip that staff will clip announcements etc. You can find pics of them easily on here if you search. If you have joined a sail group for the date you are cruising a lot of times they have FE gift exchange. You make a mailbox that loops over the FE and they put gifts in it. We bought our FE on ebay...worth every penny. A lot of people will put in gifts that represent where they are from or have some relationship with the ship you are on. You will find lots of ideas on this site. Some deliver one nicer gift and some deliver lots of little gifts. It is SO fun to come back to the cabin and see things have been delivered to your room.

I love the home made fridge magnets since I put them on the fridge at home and it reminds me of our cruises.:goodvibes

Also very pleased to have any of the following items ;

- hair repair sachets (especially since the sea/ pool plays havoc with mine !)
- travel size packs of tissues /wipes
- any travel related products in general.

Not so keen on the plastic stuff either now the kids are over 8 years.

......I'd rather have a very few small better quality items (not necessarily expensive) than a heap of junk to bring home !!!

Also I think there should be a rule to exclude all teenage boys, from all FE programmes because;
1. there is nothing under $50 that you could possibly buy them, that they would actually like ! :headache:
2. they are not the least bit bothered about, or grateful for, any FE gifts ! :snooty:

..well, that is my experience anyway !

I will be going on my first cruise this year and I have 3 young kids so this sounds really fun! How does one sign up to be part of this fe program?

I'm not sure what we'll do this year....it will be our first cruise knowing anything about the FE exchange.

My daughter will be having her 13th birthday on the boat. She'd love it.

My two sons will be 19 and 17. They think it sounds dumb. But they certainly like things you can eat. :lmao:

My boys don't want any decorations on their door. They're such party poopers.

Our teen boys like candy, gum (I've heard you can't find gum on the ship!), surfing/skateboard decals, packs of sports cards, cool keychains, & mini colognes. I agree, they are a tough crowd to please.;)

best gifts received...... First - all gifts were amazing and it was sooo much fun finding presents there - the kids had a blast delivering them all around the ship and receiving. We were overwhelmed with the quantity of items.

the ones that stood out for us

the tote bag with our family name and the cruise ship - every time I use it I remember.

The picture frame

Mickey mouse hand towel - a kitchen reminder of fun!

cruise music CDs - kids pulled to ipods and I have them in my car.

Cadbury candy from cadbury UK - crunchie, flake etc (the ones we cannot get)

for teenagers I would do arcade tokens - food always works for mine. :)

there were many things we got that we used right away - a binder clip, lip gloss, crayons,etc. We ended up packing up a whole box to mail home. What fun we had opening it about a week or so after the cruise and going slowly through each thing and remembering....
