Fastpass for electrical street parade or wishes?

We have never seen the electrical parade or Wishes. I was thinking of using a fastpass for them. I would like a good viewing area hopefully without having to stake out a spot an hour ahead of time. There is only one parade the night we are going, an hour before wishes. If we get a fastpass for the parade, can we stay in that area to watch Wishes and is it a good viewing spot for the parade and wishes? Thanks!

The fastpass area for the Electrical Parade is great. There's limited availability and maximum space to spread out. Got right in the front and could enjoy the parade.

As for the fireworks, you want to be a bit further back to see everything. I'd not do it for the fireworks.

We used FP+ for both MSEP and Wishes. VERY glad we did.
FP+ area for MSEP is at the entrance to Main Street in the area around the Flag Pole so you see the floats go all the way around you.
FP+ areas for Wishes are in lovely fenced, turfed areas on both the left and right side of the Hub in front of the Castle. We were very happy to have had the passes. Walked up right to the area maybe 15 minutes ahead of time. WONDERFUL that Disney created these spaces and have given the ability to use a FP+ for them.

As LoveThatMouse! pointed out, the FP area for the parade is by the flagpole when you first come into the park. It's actually too far back for a good view of Wishes, and in particular, the Celebrate the Magic show that is displayed on the castle about 15 minutes before Wishes, not too close. (Heck, you'd have to leave the park to get any further back. ;))

I think you may be talking about out-of-date, no longer used FP+ locations.

Below is a "work-in-progress" of my overview of the new Hub. Some of the "outer" sidewalks shown have not been built yet. Some of the unfinished areas have since been finished. The original photo is by Scott Keating, posted on WDWMagic.
Note the two new Wishes FP+ viewing locations shaded in deep purple.

Agreed. You will want 2 different FP+, one for each area. You will most certainly want to be in the Wishes area for Wishes and for the pre-show of Celebrate the Magic which is a beautiful projection show which uses the castle as the 'screen'. Also, if you choose the FP area that is to the right of the castle, Tinkerbell flies almost directly over your head when she 'flies' from the castle toward Tomorrowland Terrace.

We did FP for Wishes before Memorial Day. Not sure what the pp are speaking about at all--but I found the viewing area perfect and would not hesitate getting FP for it in the future.

As I mentioned above in post #5, I think some may be talking about out-of-date FP+ locations.

So if I dont use a fp on the parade, and just stake out a spot along Main St, how far ahead of the parade time should we get there to get a front row seat? I think I would rather use one on wishes and not the parade. Thanks for all the help!

Depends on the date.
There are nights when Main St. will be staked-out 90-120 minutes before the parade start-time.

We are going in Sept. It's not supposed to be crowded, I think a 3 or 4 on the crowd control calendar.. If I have to stake out a spot 90 minutes ahead of time I think I will sacrifice a fp and get one for both.

I would personally use the FP for Wishes. It's a great area with a great view. I wouldn't want to be as far back as the MSEP FP for celebrate the magic before wishes.

There's so many spots to watch MSEP that I wouldn't use a FP for it. We've been walking along and have had the option to just stop and watching without camping out a spot.

It's also not the best, but you could watch MSEP from the Wishes FP area. It's slightly elevated compared to the road and you'll only have about two rows of people in front of you. So ground level will be blocked from view, but you can see quite a bit of the floats. I would rather watch MSEP from Wishes FP than watch Wishes from MSEP FP

Wow I had no idea they moved everything. I loved it when the parade areas were in front of the castle - made for great picture opportunities! Oh well - thanks for clarifying my wrong information,

It's quite possible (but we don't know) that they will be moving the parade FP+ viewing area back to the Hub after the hub construction is completed.

Stay tuned.

We had FP+ for both, different nights for each. We were able to see the MSEP well enough from Wishes FP+ spot that we didn't use the MSEP wishes on the other night & got a different FP+.
