If you sit in the reserved area, can you exit any quicker after the show?

Also, any advice on whether the package is necessary for Feb. 7?

We utilized the Fantasmic Dinner Package on Sat 11-20 and I think it might be a little faster since you aren't walking all the way back up the ramp toward Sunset Blvd then toward Hollywood Blvd. You are exiting at the same spot you went in - right at Oscar's on Hollywood Blvd. near the entrance. And near some great restrooms too! Others might percieve it in a different way. Look at an MGM map and you'll see that when you enter at Oscar's it's a good trek back over to Fantasmic. But remember there won't be as many folks pushing and shoving as there are in the regular exit so you'll make better 'time' too!

PS When we were there, we were so exhausted after a long day it was hard to tell anything we were so ready for bed (don't tell anyone, but my 17 DD reminds me that I slept thru part of Fantasmic but that is no reflection on the quality of the show, just on my tiredness!)

Can't halp you with the exiting part because this is our first time seeing Fantasmic. But were going Wed. Feb 9th and we didn't get the fantasmic package because I had heard on this board it is not that necessary for that time of year. Were a family of 5 with the youngest 3 1/2 and were heading there about 1/2 hour before the show. I think it won't be that bad

We were seated in the reserved package section of Fantasmic this past Saturday night. This is my first time seeing it, so I don't know what the norm is. I thought we did exit out pretty quickly and we were seated in the front row. If you were closer to the rear, then you'd probably be one of the first ones out. Our server at Mama Melrose's said that we would be able to exit right into the parking lot. We ended up being sent out via Sunset Blvd. We entered through the special doors by Oscars, but they had CM's blocking it when the show got out. We still made it onto the second resort boat, so it wasn't too bad.

If you sit in the back, it makes it easier to get out ahead of the crowds. I've gotten up and left from lower in the section but then you get the comments from other spectators (not that I care).

I'd wait until the end of the show irregardless. We usually actually stay put for a few minutes (no matter where we are seated for this show). Either we're going to spend 20 minutes fighting the crowds to exit. Or we can spend 15 minutes on the bench and then exit in 5-10. In the end it may take 5 more minutes, but it is really worth the extra few moments.

We've been three times in the reserved section and have exited both ways. If we get to go behind the shops to the front of the park, we make a beeline for the resort boats. If we are put out onto Sunset Blvd., then we make a beeline for the 50s Primetime Cafe in hopes of catching a cold beer and some down time instead of waiting in line for transportation back to the hotel. I guess it all depends on the night! :earboy2:

Fantasmic is not a hard one to see, it's just a hard one to get great seats for. We are doing the dinner package for the first time this coming week, and honestly I think they will be worse seats than we usually get. They are at one side. The great thing about the dinner is that you don't have to wait at all. We usually sat and waited 1 1/2 to 2 hours to get middle section seats. We've had great seats, but now that we've seen it enough, we are looking forward to no wait, even if the seats are a little less good. I don't think it would ever be a must, so regardless of when, Feb. or anytime, you can do it either way. Just don't expect a seat without the wait unless you have the package. That theatre fills up!

When we went they had the entrance from Oscars blocked when Fantasmic was over so we ended up on the same street that everyone exited on. We'd just been on Keys of the Kingdom tour in MK where we learned about "efficiencies" which means all the stores are connected and it is often quicker to go through the stores than the crowded streets (we were told that CM's use this to move quickly through the parks at crowded times) the shops were empty when we tried it. We made it on the first bus out using our new found knowledge of Disney "efficiencies"
