Fantasmic Blue Bayou dining package questions

I'm researching the dining package options for both Fantasmic and WOC. I noticed that the BB package includes seat cushions. Does that mean the entire BB viewing area accommodates ground seating? How does the viewing area compare to the FastPass viewing area? In general, which viewing is more crowded, the early or the later show?

Finally, is it possible to watch Fantasmic, the parade, and fireworks all in one night?

Thanks in advance!

You are pretty much up against the gate in front of the water in center. They give you surprisingly comfy foam seat cushions to sit down on. I can't really compare to fast pass as we didn't do fantasmic fast pass but it's been the closest we've ever gotten for watching the show.

All of the reports I've seen have indicated that the Blue Bayou viewing area is ground sitting only. There have been a handful of reports indicating that guests could opt to stand, but only in the very back of the viewing area. Most folks have also reported that the Blue Bayou viewing area wasn't terribly crowded. It's located front and center, so it has the "best" view of the show. The FP viewing areas are to the left, right, and behind of the dining package viewing areas. There are some very good views from with the FP viewing areas, but it's almost all standing room only (some have reported that they could sit if they were close to the railing/RoA) and some of it can be off to the side or at odd angles.

At this point, we do not know when the parade will be shown (I'm guessing you're asking about Paint the Night, which will debut for the 60th). You can usually watch the fireworks and the second F! without to much difficulty (in terms of timing, it's always a hassle to get from MS to the RoA at that time - just be patient). If they use the old MSEP schedule as a template, I think it will be possible to see all three, but it might not be easy. It all depends on when the parade starts, but they will have to have the parade off the route before fireworks start, so I'm guessing that the parade will start first, then finish up just before fireworks are slated to start. So you'll need to select your parade and fireworks viewing locations to be nearly the same. This is all conjecture at this point, but that's my best guess.

We did the BB Fantasmic dining pkg in January and it was great. Cushions were ok, (I'm not that light though, so it makes a difference I think, haha. Plenty of room during the first showing for everyone to sit in the BB designated area, with great views for all. From what I heard from others there, (I did not do regular FP) that area is standing only. I'm going again in May, with a first timer, and we are planning on doing the BB pkg again. While it is a lot of money, the dinner was great, and not that much more than if you did a regular dinner at BB, since it includes an appetizer (as the regular dinner does too, but it includes the shrimp cocktail, which by the way sucked. It was 2 full shrimp, and a few tiny shrimp pieces mixed in the sauce, yuck) and dessert.

With the BB package, how early did you have to get your spot and cushion before the show starts? Can you walk up right before the show and still have a great view? Anyone know the cost? Thank you!

They give you the cushion at dinner. Your return time is 30 minutes before the show time and that is plenty early.

What's the souvenir that comes with the Blue Bayou package? Also, is it a set menu or can you choose any entree off their regular menu? Thanks!!!

I think it's just the cushion...at least that's all we got when we did it last week. Can't remember if it included all menus items but there was plenty to choose from entree wise. Most popular at our table was the filet Mignon.

Any one have a pic of the Cushion? I didn't know you get to keep it.

The cushion is navy blue with a white Fantasmic logo filling up one side. They are those dense foam cushions people use on sadium seats sometimes. About an inch and half thick. There is a cut out in the top that pops out which leaves a handle space to carry the cushions. The cut out is a boat key chain and also says Fantasmic on it. I highly recommend the BB Fantasmic package. The food is good (get the salad over the shrimp cocktail) but the seating is to die for. Seriously makes a huge difference in your entire park experience. They open the area 30 minutes before show time. We were in no rush and were in the second row with no one in our personal space. Not at all as crowded as a typical 4th of july fireworks show. People who came in at the 5 minute warning were in back of the BB area. So maybe 10 "rows" back. They could see perfectly fine as well. The show happens on Tom Sawyer Island mostly, so you don't need to be able to see the actual water of the ROA. Seriously, it wasn't until I did the package with the show that I understood why people said Fastasmic is worth the entire price of admission to Disneyland.

How does one get a fastpass for Disneyland Fantasmic? I've never heard of that, and I've been going to DLR for about 35 years now. :)

The DL Fantasmic! FP started in mid December last year. Here is figment post of how to get a FP for F!. Fantasmic FASTPASS and dining reservations. Most everything we know about seeing Fantasmic changed on December 12 (last Friday). Information is still evolving but this great post by figment_jii is the best info as of today - http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=52755898&postcount=39

I just did this last week also. The only thing we got was the cushion. I don't like this new arramgement, as we used to do the dessert package and had chairs. Yes, you sit on the concrete on the cushion and the River Belle Terrace folks were in the same section as Blue Bayou. It wasn't awful, but it felt like folks were trying to shift a lot to get comfortable and had to be wary of hands and legs around them. We checked out the Fastpass distribution point way back around the Big Thunder trail and the Fastpasses had run out, this on a slow mid week day. We checked about 3 in the afternoon, so I don't know how early they ran out. You are up close, but your view is obstructed by having to look through iron fencing. I will say that leaving the area didn't seem as jam packed with folks as before. I can see why they did it, but it isn't as nice an experience as the previous premium offering IMO.

OMG ok this is defiantly on our must do list now to find something we will all eat.

I was just checking this all out and found for 2/23 it shows I can do Blue Bayou or the grab & go from Aladdin's Oasis. Shows our party size is too large for Riverbelle and because Hungry Bear is closed, that's a no go. Does this mean whatever glitch wasn't allowing reservations passed 2/28 is cleared up or am I not reading the options correctly? (for the record it is showing an 8pm dinner reservation under that F! option)

Two questions.
Can I order off the Lunch menu?
Can I chose a late showing of F if I want that?

I booked today for March and they were offering a dining package for the second Famtasmic. I had to choose the first or second showing at booking though, it isn't like we could show up for the second and be accommodated if we chose the first.

No idea about lunch menu...my Disney adult would prefer the lunch menu, for sure.
