Family Beach Cabana price increase for summer

So that is BEFORE tax? Even at $549, the total with their Bahamian tax is $590.18. So now it will be well over $600 including tax? I'm not even going to say what I am thinking!

Typically, when DCL ups the prices on things, those reservations already made are "grandfathered" in. But I'd suggest you keep an eye on what you're charged. Sometimes price increases have been applied across the board and only those who questioned it got the original price back.

I have an email in to concierge asking about this since our cruise is just over a week away. ::sigh::

It's not a make or break amount in terms of our budget, but we got caught on the Palo price increase last summer the same way.

ETA: Looking at my reservation, it is still showing the old price.

DCL does say that if you already had the cabana reserved prior to April 22, they will honor the price you booked it at. But yes, I'd keep an eye on the charges just in case.

I view "temporary" price increase through the same suspicious lens as "temporary" taxes. Once they start bringing in more money and people are still standing in line to book them, even at the higher rate, what are the chances this won't become permanent?

The market can determine the price - right now there are hundreds of folks checking the DCL site every day hoping a Cabana will become available...good for them...obviously the price is not hindering the desire to reserve a cabana...I am thrilled that people are willing to pay this, hoping it will balance the DCL costs of say a drink or smoothie on CC
