How strict are they on age when booking excursions? We want to do the rainforest horseback riding in Puerto Rico but our group consists of me, dh, dd 18, ddbf 19, and ds 11 1/2. The excursion states 12 yrs old for the horseback riding, it used to be 11 but it changed in the past few years. Will they consider the 11 1/2 or will we be forced to find something else. He has ridden before on different vacations, we did a great 3 hour ride in Yellowstone when he was 9.

    Thanks for the info

Ages are strictly enforced and since each person's age is listed on the reservation there's no getting around it.

Absolutely totally strict. No variation, even by one day.

However, you can sometimes book the same excursion privately. This will often have a lower cost (since the vendor doesn't have to give DCL a cut) and may have different age requirements.

That is what we did in Aruba for a horseback riding excursion when DD was 8. DCL's age requirements are due to insurance, so are not able to budge at all.

you won't even be able to book the excursion as they have the age of the child in the computer...tried it myself a couple of times; once on purpose and another time not knowing and never got close...
