Everything you need to know about Bonnet Creek before you go...

    Feel free to add to my list!

    1. This is a timeshare resort. You will be asked to attend a sales meeting. They will phone you in the room.

    2. This is not an all inclusive resort. Unless you are only there to sleep, you will need to buy groceries which means you need to either order them or drive to a grocery store (the store is not close by) to buy them. Then you will have to cook said food. And do the dishes afterwards. Yep, cooking and dishes while on vacation.

    3. You need a car. Yes you can do car service/cab from the airport and use the BC shuttle to the parks but honestly if you stay at BC and don't have a car, you will be annoyed and not enjoy yourself. I promise.

    4. You do not have a choice of tower or room, unless you are a VIP timeshare owner or if you book a presidential suite (then you are in tower 6 for sure). Otherwise, you get what you get. You don't get a choice. You can ask, but don't be disappointed when you don't get what you want. (Fireworks views are the best IMO).

    5. Some of the rooms have newer furnishings than others. Yes, some rooms have granite and some have laminate counters. Some have worn couches, some do not. Unless you book a presidential suite you don't have a choice. You get what you get.

    6. It is loud and crowded in high season. The pools are crowded and rowdy in high season. There is lots of drinking, esp. in the evenings.

    7. There are some people who will congregate in groups of 40, plug in a karaoke machine, scream, yell and blast music til midnight right outside your door (only happened one night). There are all different types of people at BC. Ground floor units are LOUD...but the advantage is you can walk out your sliding doors.

    8. It is not a hotel. There is no daily maid service. They don't make your bed and exchange your towels every day. No mint on your pillow. If you leave your towels on the floor they will be there when you get back.

    9. The parking lot is full in the evenings. You will have to park in the ramp if you get there at night.

    10. There is NO "Disney" customer service. This is not a Disney hotel. The employees are not Disney trained. You will not receive Disney quality customer service so don't expect it. If you want the Magic, it is not here. You will not feel it here. You are off site.

    11. The TV's have alarm clocks. My kids TV came on BLASTING at midnight. Freaked everyone out. Previous guests had a laugh at our expense.

    12. Because it's a big apartment, it will feel messy. Your kids stuff will be everywhere.

    13. There is a laundry machine in the unit and a dryer. You might feel compelled.

    14. The main pool is loud during the afternoons. Microphones and loud music for games. But FUN!:flower3:

    1. You can go to any pool you'd like. You don't have to go to the pool at the Tower you are staying in. Try them all!

    2. Tower 6 has it's own check-in (Presidential Tower).

    3. The four bedroom Presidential Suites are found in all towers, any other Presidential Suite is in Tower 6.

    4. Check-out day can be crazy, and if you are looking for a cart to take your stuff down sometimes that's not so easy. Give yourself plenty of time to get to airport or before a check-out day dining reservation!

    1. Even if traveling with your spouse, tell them you are traveling alone. They won't bother you with timeshare.

    2. Stayed in building 3 at the end of June. Had no trouble with parking or noise.

    3. Location and price cannot be beat. I don't understand how Disney let this prime piece of real estate get away

    4. Bring extra shampoo/soap. With no daily maid service, you might run out.

    When you check in, you'll be directed to another desk for your "parking pass." The people at that desk are Wyndham sales "body-snatchers;" they get paid by the number of people they sign up for a tour. If you say no, they will ask you to "take a survey" supposedly about your experience at WBC. Both are sales presentations, and there is no difference between the two -- say no to anything they offer you.

    They will also come directly to your room, sometimes calling first to "bring you your welcome gift", sometimes without a call. Turn them away -- it's a sales presentation, and if you let them in your room, they will NOT leave.
    Actually, what you heard was probably Karaoke Night at the poolside bar over at Tower 2/3. You can hear it all over the resort. It's not a random bunch of drunks; it's a bunch of drunks participating in an official organized activity of the resort.
    Actually, there IS Disney customer service onsite at WBC. There is a Disney desk in the main lobby, staffed by Disney (not Wyndham) employees. You can get tons of info, and buy park tickets there.

    And, the service we've received from the Wyndham RESORT staff has always been excellent -- friendly, knowledgeable, helpful people. The timeshare sales staff are low-lifes, but the RESORT staff is great.

    Yes we love it there! Been many times and will go again in a few months. We took friends with us (they had their own room) and I could not stand the constant complaining so I had to write it all out to make myself feel better :lmao:

    Oh yes we know full well about that. This was a very "special" group of people doing their own thing...lots and lots of drinking, screaming, yelling right outside our door. The resort stuff is enjoyable. This was NOT the resort stuff. I know the difference. I had to call security.

    2. Or if you don't like to cook, The kitchen and dishes allow you a place to put leftovers from your TS meals (onsite and off), and a way to reheat them easily in the room. (Also cereal breakfasts are easy and quick.). There is a dishwasher you can run before heading to the parks.

    4. IMO, i like the lake views better. Firework views are great during the 10-20min of fireworks, but there is slightly bigger than 50% chance your "Fireworks view" could be over a parking lot. The Lake/pool view you may not have the best view of the fireworks at night from your room [you know... if you aren't actually at the parks during fireworks], but you do get a great view while sitting on your balcony in the morning or evening.

    9. Parking can be difficult to find easily/quickly in the surface lots if you get back late... however there are also 2 parking garages. One between Towers 4 and 5, and the other by Tower 6. If you get one of these towers, it's usually pretty easy to find a spot in the garage at night.

    13. But since it's in your room and not a common laundry room, you can feel safe leaving your room while it's running....either to go to the pool or bar... or even to head out to the parks.

    Oh, ok...now I see where you were going with your first post. :laughing:
    We are considering staying offsite for our next trip if we can't get a promotional discount to make it feasible for us to stay onsite so I am looking carefully at both Bonnet Creek and Windsor Hills.

    20 yrs ago (when our kids were 3 & 4), we spent 7 days at a Holiday Inn in Kissimmee, then "splurged"and spent 3 nights at the Contemporary, Disney. The HI had kids programs, free kids meals, and much cheaper rates; the room was in excellent condition.

    The Contemporary: Valet parking only (quite inconvenient when a 3 & 4 yr old forget something in the car), worn carpets and stains on the walls, and a cracked bathroom sink.

    Obviously, that's not usually what a Disney property will be like but, as a previous poster mentioned, you can run into problems like that anywhere. We're doing BC soon, so we'll see for ourselves what its like, I guess.

    I used Ken and Denise at Vacation Upgrades. We have a 2nd trip booked for November.
