Noticed that there are tours of the ship given the first day. What are they like and are they worth taking? This is our first cruise ever, so an orientation might be good, fun and interesting for us, but if it is more slanted towards retailing and extra (premium) services, I'd give it a miss.

I've never taken the opening ship tour, but it is an orientation to the ship. It helps you get a layout of where everything is without having to figure it out yourself. People I have talked to that have done it have enjoyed it.

Definitely do the ship tour on the first day. We just got off our first cruise today and are so glad we took this tour. The CM walked us around several different decks showing us where things/places were located. He also explained how things worked, ect. DH and I are so glad we took this tour and we enjoyed it too. It lasted about 30 minutes.
