Embark/Disembark procedure on B2B

    Just in case someone is going to do a b2b.

    I was on a 4/3 night b2b on the Wonder last week. We had different rooms because we decided book the 3 nighter a few months later. By that time there weren't too many rooms available and we couldn't get the same room as the 4 nighter. Anyhoo, they advised us that we have to leave that ship at the end of our 4 nighter. We were allowed to leave our bags with the front desk and they brought them to our new room later on the day. So at around 9:30am we disembarked, drop off our customs form and then went straight up the escalator and waited for the registration desks to open. At around 11am, I registered and the CS rep Ron told me that he will escort my family to the ship right away since I was on a b2b. He remembered me from registering on the 4-nighter. We boarded the ship at around 11:15 but they didn't get to introduce us since nobobdy was there yet. We went to the deck and hung out until boarding time.

    Thanks for posting this as there are many B2Bers next summer.

    So basically you had to sit in the terminal for 90 minutes?

    Did the CMs recognize you for the second cruise? I assume you kept the same wait staff.

    Thank you for posting this. We are doing b2b Magic cruises this December. I knew that you now had to disembark between cruises but wasn't sure exactly what the procedure was. This clears things up!

    One question though...did the check-in desks not open until 11:00? I remember them opening a bit earlier than that. I believe the terminal opened at 10:00 and check-in began at 10:30 or so.

    I thought I would be able to stay on board as everyone kept stating in this board. I kept asking different front desk rep on different days to see if they would give me the answer that I wanted. But no dice, they all said that I had to disembark. At least they were consistant.

    Alot of CMs remembered us from the 4 nighter, especially the Oceaneers CM.

    When we were leaving our 3 nighter, alot of them ask us if we were joining them again. I wish, but I had to go back to work to pay for that trip.

    Also,
    My friend and his family joined us at the 3 nighter. At first we had different dining times but they were able to change our dining hour and rotation so that we can be together and have the same waiters ( Vic and Manuel ).

    Rats, rats, rats.......oh, well, kicking you off at 9:30am isn't too bad.

    Ya know.....with that time to kill before re-boarding the ship, maybe I should volunteer my kids to help the CMs clean the ship.....polishing, vacuuming, etc.

    Keep the kids busy.;)

    Did your cabin stewart let you stay in your cabin until 9:30? Did you just get off when they made a last call? Who escorted you back onto the ship the same person that checked you in? How long after you boarded did everyone else start to board?

    We didn't want to hold up the cabin stewart from cleaning our old room so we left at around 8:30am, sat by the front desk and watch everyone leave. Nobody actually told us to leave but we figured everyone was out by 9:30am and we went through customs pretty quickly. People started showing up at the terminal at around 10am. The CMs started showing up at around 10:30 but the computers were not setup yet. We just happened to get the same person that checked us in on the 3 nighter before. He remembered me and knew I was on a b2b. I actually got the no.2 boarding ticket since I was the first one on line. My wife was on line to register the kids but they weren't setup yet also. He told us that he will escort us up already and we can register the kids later on. I wasn't really paying attention when people were boarding. We were at the deck just relaxing. Some of the waiters recognized us and talked to us for a bit.

    thanks for posting.

    we are in serious discussions of our first and second cruise doing a back2back 4/3

    with a 3 year old we were wondering how it would all work out.

    what's the latest you can depart the ship?

    i'd love to take our time so we aren't sitting in the terminal too long before re-boarding.

    I believe that's 9:30. It is for the suites and they have the last disembarcation time.

    There is actually no set disembarkation time. Anybody, whether in a suite or in a Cat. 12 is free to stay onboard until the last minute (roughly 9:30am). You will not be assigned a disembarkation time.

    Passengers are assigned a breakfast time according to their dinner seating time (Main Dining has breakfast around 6:30am, Late Dining has breakfast around 8:00am) but you are not obligated to go to that breakfast. If you'd like you can go to Topsiders that morning instead and leave the ship when you are done.

    Shutters is also open on disembarkation morning and many people end up spending their last hour or two on the ship here, purchasing their photos or having photo cards made. I was surprised how busy Shutters was on the last morning.

    There have been varying reports as to the back-to-back disembarkation/reboarding procedure. While some have reported a similar timeline to the OP, others have reported that they disembarked, returned to the terminal and were allowed to check in and reboard immediately. I think it is the luck of the draw. At the most you'll have to spend an hour to an hour and a half in the terminal before you are allowed to reboard.

    We're going on a b-t-b in two weeks :-)banana:) and I'll report back on our experience when we return.

    This is so strange, we just enquired today about a b2b cruise. We would be adding a 3 night on. We were told that we would have to get off and would be able to get back on again at about 10:30am, this was only because we were changing staterooms, if we were keeping the same cabin we would be able to stay onboard.

    Anyway, they said that there would be nothing open on the ship, no food etc, not even the pools, is this right? We have till Wednesday to make our minds up.

    In the past you could stay onboard between cruises, whether you were changing staterooms or not. This is no longer the case. You now have to disembark whether you are changing staterooms or not. Once back in the terminal you re-check-in and then can go back onboard. Some have reported being allowed to check in right away, others have reported having to wait until the check-in lines open at 10:30am. Even if you have to wait until 10:30 to check in they will then escort you right back onto the ship, even if regular boarding has not yet begun.

    There are no services during this time but you are free to use the lounge chairs (not the pools) or explore the ship. They just ask that you stay out of the way of the stateroom hosts who are trying to get all of the rooms ready for the next cruisers. We plan to get some laundry started before we disembark and then move it to the dryers when we are allowed back onboard.

    Make sure to tape a note to the washer/dryer informing the CM's that you are doing a b2b and that you will be returning shortly for your clothes. That way they don't think some poor family forgot their clothes in the laundry room. :lmao:

    I am not really doing a b2b cruise, but I am thinking about doing a 7 night then a 4 night
