I have a DS that is 7 yrs old, only a few months shy of eight when we set sail. We want to go on a excursion that is for 8 and up. How close do they stick to the age guidelines? Because he could pass for older. Has anyone has any experience with this?

Welcome to the DIS boards. DCL is very strict about the age limits on their excursions. This is due to liability on their part and insurance. There is no way to pass a child as being older since their birthdate is entered into the system and BC or Passport need to be verified when you check in. You can look into booking an excursion directly through the vendor instead of DCL.

If it is a DCL offered excursion, then Yes, they are very strict about age because of Insurance

Many of the excursions can be booked privately with different rules and prices than DCL has. You might see what you can find on line......
