Day 3 - December 2nd

Today we were heading to MGM. We got there right when they opened and headed to the backlot area, as I wanted to meet Pooh and friends before the lines formed. We got back there, and the place was deserted. After several minutes in the deserted area, my dh says, "why are we wasting time back here?". I gave up and said fine, let's go do something. Just as we turned around, Tigger bounded out of his trailer. My kids ran up and he and my kids
bounced and bounced and bounced. He signed and posed then he took them and they bounced down the street to look for Pooh. They found Eeyore next, then came Pooh. It was so great, my kids had them pretty much to themselves. It was so darling, and they felt so special. Next we went to Al's Toy Barn, and saw Jessie, Buzz and Woody. We had a small line, but only a few minutes. A Green Army Man, joined us in line, and made it fun. I love their
feet! As they were signing our books, Buzz and Woody put on quite a show, pretending they were fighting. The kids missed the whole thing, but the adults thought it was a riot. We then got fastpasses for the Little Mermaid and headed off for lunch, we were hungry already, and had spent some time wandering around the streets of New York. I just love walking around MGM, I find it so pretty. We got PB&J in a little box for the kids and went looking
for something for us. On the map the Backlot Express looked really far away, so we went to Rosies (only find out later the Backlot was right by where we were). The food at Rosies was good, but the birds are awful! They were sitting on the fans right over our heads. Kept waiting for them to drop little presents on us, thank goodness they didn't. We went back to the Little Mermaid next, and my dd was nervous again, but loved it! We thought it was
great too, Ariel was very good. We went on the backlot tour next. My dd was very startled by the water explosions, but both kids thought that was vey cool. I warned them right before we went into Catastrophe Canyon, as I figured it would scare the daylights out of them if I didn't. My warning made them a little nervous, but I was glad I did, as once it started they thought it was really cool! We walked through the backstage pass after, which
the adults liked, but the kids were bored silly. I took Matthew on the Great Movie Ride, one of my favorites. Again, I warned him in advance, and I was glad I did. He thought the ride was neat, and even made it through the Alien part with no problems. This was our first use of our Talkabouts. Dh and dd went to get fastpasses for Star Tours, while we rode the movie ride. When we got out, he said there was only a 10 minute wait, so they could
just go now. Turned out, there was no wait, they walked on. We staked out a spot for the Mulan parade while they went on, then we watched the parade. Dd is a huge Mulan fan so the parade was a big hit, one of the dancers gave her a fan too, which made her day. A young woman sat next to us, who couldn't sit with her friends in the sun, because she had called in sick to work that day LOL. She was so nice, and kept a conversation going with Alexa
the whole time. We then headed back to the hotel for the night. We ate dinner again at the food court, we really liked having a food court. The kids played at the arcade again after dinner, and Matthew got enough tickets for his handcuffs. We then watched some cartoons in the room and went to bed. The bedtime stories channel is great for bedtime!

Oh No! He got the handcuffs!

elgerber, Sounds like an exciting day at MGM. It is so much fun to meet the Characters. I love to see them when they are playful, not just posing.
