Received earlier this week the Vacation Planner for 2012, skipping through it made us pre-plan for a possible Christmas or New Year vacation, fingers crossed.

In with the planner was a letter stating that they are going to make changes to the number of vacation points required at some of the DVC Resorts for 2013.

Just checked this out on the DVC web-site where it states.

'At Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa, the Vacation Points required for Treehouse Villas are increasing based on high Member demand.
Increases and decreases within these two Resorts' charts keep the total number of Vacation Points for each Resort unchanged'

Had a quick look and points for an SSR Treehouse Villa in 2013 has gone up between 35 points per week in Adventure Season to 60 points per week during Premier Season.

Points for some of the other types of rooms will be reduced in 2013, an example is in Adventure Season where the points for one week in a studio will reduce by 5 points to 90.

So if you're thinking of a future vacation using your points at the Treehouse Villa's you might want to bring it forward to this year before the point increase in 2013.

There's also a change to BLT's points but as we don't own there we've not yet looked that up.

    Back to the Planner.

The BLT change was to move 10 of the theme park view rooms (presumably those where you didn't actually get a great view of MK) to standard view. I think this is a good move, it's better to get a standard view room and be pleased with a partial MK view than to get a theme park view room and be dissapointed with the partial view!
