So I want to do a one day( maybe all of the 24 hours of that day:rotfl2:) trip to San Fran or Las Vegas:cool1:. So is there any adventure drivers out there that have done aether one?. Also I would like to do a round of golf at Palm springs one Morning, it would be awesome to hear any feed back on that trip also. So I am a driving junkie, but I do not want to do to much time on the road and take away from the attractions,so working with in a 24hr period is it worth it?

No, not worth it, it's a 6 hour drive (minimum) to SF, I would simply stay in the Anaheim area.

There are rest stops along the way on I5.
Winchester house is in San Jose, so that will be another stop entirely.
If you want to visit Alcatraz, make sure you know which day that will be and buy your tickets in advance (at least 2 weeks).

Las Vegas is 4 hours away from Anaheim.

If you're going to do 1-2 full days I'd say yes to SF, but with the 6 hour drive (and that is with no traffic which you are bound to hit) I wouldn't do less than that. Alcatraz sells out fast so make sure (as Girimama said) you get your tickets in advance. You could go to the Walt Disney Family Museum and Pier 39 in SF as well. Drive across the GG Bridge, walk across it. :) You'll find things to do.
Winchester Mystery House is cool but yes, it would be another stop, I wouldn't try to include it in a quick trip to SF.

Winchester is in San Jose -- I would say over an hour from Alcatraz (hard to tell exactly depending on traffic). If you go to google maps, you can type in multiple addresses (or even places like Disneyland) and ask for directions -- it will give you mileage as well as estimated times.

Definitely plan for 1.5-2 hours to get from Alcatraz to the Winchester Mystery House. You may also consider buying tickets in advance if you do the WMH, they have been known to sell out, once I went with the BFF and she and I had to wait for 2 tours before we could actually take our tour. We just wandered around the grounds and took pictures while we waited but it was kind of lame. lol

I've done the vegas trip a few times. It's an easy drive, under 5 hours most days, but last time I got caught in a forest fire and had to detour through the national forest up and over mountains which was friggin scary and added an extra three hours.

I'd go for Vegas or Palm Springs. San Francisco is at LEAST 6 hours, but given traffic, it can take you 8-9. The Alcatraz tour is a couple of hours, and if you go mid week, you won't have to wait too long. IF you do the drive, you are looking a MAX of 12 hours in San Francisco. Depending on what time you arrive, you could also be facing traffic in San Francisco. IMHO, San Francisco needs at LEAST 2 days if you are driving.

There is so much to do in Southern Ca. and Vegas is a much closer drive. In the L.A. area you have the Ghetty Museum-AMAZING- and the Simon Wiesenthal museum of Tolerance-AMAZING. If you go to Vegas you could go to the Hoover Dam and tour that.
