haha...I know! When is it NOT a good time for jam tarts and tea?? If I ever started a company I would most definitely serve those every lunch break. :thumbsup2

It's definitely one of the nicest parts of staying club, especially during the summer when you know the parks will be crazy!

The MK seems to take on a whole new persona in the rain, it's still so pretty...just a little more wet! :rolleyes1;) We LOVE visiting resorts we're not staying at. Disney does such a good job of making you feel at home...it feels like you belong there even if you're not staying! :goodvibes

We should start a petition to bring teatime back! :thumbsup2 We did not expect to love the Royal Palm Club as much as we did - definitely a new Disney favorite. :goodvibes

A breakfast with a little princess in it is always a good thing! princess:

I made the mistake of directing my DW to your RPC pictures, and our next trip went from being "on the cheap" to me promising to pack a jacket for V&A. Disney should pay you a commission for everyone who upgrades their reservations after reading your trippie.

Thanks for a great peek inside the velvet rope! :thumbsup2

Ahhhh MK. I've never seen the Tiki Room (either version) and for that, I am ashamed. Sigh!

Jungle Cruise is honestly one of my favorites! I'm all about the cheesy puns.

I love all your pictures! Yay for tea time!

LOL - they should, or if they could just comp my stay that'd be great. :rotfl: And WOW - V&A, that'll be amazing! :goodvibes

Jungle Cruise is definitely a classic. You have to get to the Tiki Room, though! I actually really miss the version with Iago and Zazu, but the original is fabulous too.

I have something kinda exciting to share with you guys today.

Months and months ago, before this trip to Disney World that I've been writing about, my brother Athos and I were sitting at the computer wasting time on the internet. Somehow we wound up watching the "Put on Your Sunday Clothes" song/scene from the movie Hello Dolly, and I got to thinking. Sunday Clothes is a song that is played on Main Street, which in itself makes it Disney-ish, but when you actually listen to the lyrics, a lot of them could match up with fun Disney World sights and sounds too.

"Out there, full of shine and full of sparkle...close your eyes and see it glisten, Barnaby!"

They could totally be talking about WDW, right?

The idea was born then and there. I wanted to make a music video at Walt Disney World to go with the song, starring Athos, Dart, and me.

All throughout this Disney trip, we would occasionally stop and do some quick filming for our project. It was really fun to think out scenes to go along with the lyrics and then dance and sing along! :cool1:

Finally I have finished editing all the clips - it was my first time putting together a video, so some parts are a bit rough; but I still think it came out kinda cute! :goodvibes

SO. Without further adieu, I present to you the premiere of:

"Put on Your Sunday Clothes - Disney Style"

    Enjoy!

Hooray indeed! I quite like being back, no idea why I ever went away!! Haha. I'm all caught up on your report now (I may or may not have used luls in my work day to sit here and read it all! :thumbsup2) Also, I love that you're on twitter, have to love social media, makes keeping in contact so much easier!! :)

Everytime I read one of your reports I get so so hungry, I'm sitting here eating a chicken and salad sandwich and suddenly it becomes the worst thing ever because I can see all your disney food!! Next time you stay club level... take me?! Haha

Seriously though, I never knew they put so much food out for you to choose from, I am very impressed!! I also have a whole new level of appreciation for the Contemporary and the Grand, so beautiful and the views are amazing!

Now hurry up and write more so I can waste more (/productively use my time) of my work day! ;)

We left the Magic Kingdom gates behind and headed down to the launch.

Soon we were cruising across the Seven Seas Lagoon. I just love the launch. There are so many worlds within Walt Disney World - the world of the parks, the world of the resorts. And then even transportation is its own (usually!) magical world. The launch especially seems to catch you up and take you to a happy place - out on the water, the gaily striped awning fluttering above, the cheerful whistle, a beautiful sight behind and a beutiful sight before you. I love it!

As soon as the boat docked, we hurried up to the Royal Palm Club. We had only barely made it back in time for tea!

PHEW! The tea goodies were still out once we reached the lounge, although they started taking them away just about five minutes later - a close call!

I just really, really want a jam tart right now. I've never actually tried to make jam tarts, but now I'm feeling inspired. I need to look up a recipe soon I think. :thumbsup2

Or some devonshire cream would be great. I saw devonshire cream at Fresh Market the other day, and it required all my willpower not to buy it!

Ahhhhhhhhhhh....tea. And that mango juice - delish!

It was just as well we had come back towards the end of tea, because then we didn't have too long to wait until dinner! Contrary to how this trip report may sound, our trips to Disney aren't completely about food...only mostly... ;)

I spent the interval strolling around the Grand. Don't you love the oversized fronds surrounding the fountain? They seem especially at home because they're pink.

Paintings are another one of those little Disney details I find myself constantly walking by, so I tried to consciously notice more of them around the Grand!

    The lounge!

A lovely occupation to while away an hour or so was just hanging over the balcony and watching everyone come and go on all the floors below. There was a big group all wearing bright pink shirts - we used a camera to zoom in and saw they were a bridal party, probably there for a rehearsel at the Wedding pavilion!

It was fun watching the CM's at the front desk (I know what that's like!), and seeing them escort families pulling their big suitcases across the lobby. You can always tell when a party is new to the Grand, because they're just staring up in awe, with their suitcase knocking into everything. :goodvibes

Even just watching guests coming out of their rooms on the upper floors was fun, guessing where they were heading for dinner! There was a mom (a fellow club guest) with a little baby princess in the stroller, and she was pushing the stroller around and around and around the atrium balcony, trying to get the baby to go to sleep!

Mmmmmm...I wonder what's on the menu at the Royal Palm Club tonight?

Exotic cheeses on the left (one was HAVARTI, one of the creamiest, loveliest cheese EVER), tofu+vegetable spring rolls on the right.

This was an asian chicken slaw. Very tangy and tasty. One of the most fun parts about staying club is getting to try all sorts of new dishes!

Black bean hummus on a pita chip topped with roasted red peppers. SO GOOD.

The hot "pickety bits" (as they called them on Downton Abbey...although Downton Abbey and I are a bit on the outs right now, because I can't believe Julian Fellowes killed off Sybil. :(). One of the selections was chicken wellington. Athos seemed to inhale them...they were pretty delectable.

These little veggie tarts tasted like they had descended straight from heaven. They melted in your mouth with just a little bit of crunch and a little bit of sweetness and overall amazingness. :thumbsup2 Oh man, I can taste it now...

    More soon!

I'm feeling hungry now too and its 7am :rotfl: Those food choices really are amazing. Is it just me or does the GF have the best club level food choices.

How fun to people watch all the activity in the lobby! And the outside grounds are just stunning!

:O Are you only at the bit where they've killed off Sybil? Man you're behind! ;) We're on a break while they make the new series at the moment, it needs to start soon though because I'm getting withdrawal symptoms!

Seriously, too much love for the club level food, it looks so so good! Mmmm.

Haha I was one of those people when we went to explore the GF, we came in on the monorail level and I was just blown away, I love it :)
